Thanks for the encouragement! Here's a sketch of a building concept, which is nothing like in the movie..I'm trying to be really creative/original here: Notes: * Notice how the telescope is an eye That's it....please give critiques

Alright...another one...what my plan is after making my machines is tweaking designs up to make a believable story of how the candy is made, but for now I'm throwing out some ideas...this next sketch is a machine that makes candy called "Teeth shockers".. Ok..time to take a break

Ok...I'm starting the car down the road to a huge project..here's the Meal Gum maker...I did this because I loved that part in the old movie when the girl eats a meal with a single piece of gum and turns purple and--anyways, here it is:

Here's the plan: I'll be posting up some more machines, finally a Top view of the fully buidling, and then start modeling!

That was actually something I saw that sparked the idea...looks funny!

I was thinking about how I'm starting to get into building structures and said "well, Willy Wonka's factory has many interesting shapes and structures.." Not only that, but it'd be really fun to make the candy machines and even just the building itself! I started by planning to sketch out some concepts of what's going to be in the building. I've scanned my first one and posted. I'm excited just thinking about this..

Middlekid, this film is getting me excited for the future! You inspire me a lot...the only thing I have to say about your one video you posted so far is this (I'm a movie maker myself): As the camera pans forward, I suggest throughout the whole time, the camera very slowly tilts and tilts and tilts, until when it gets to the hole it's finally done a 180 degree turn..or what you can do is just right when you get to the hole, stop the tilting and dive into the hole in the same degree position

Wow...looks very intersesting..like a scene from "Princess Bride"

It depends on what you're working on...lip sync? Natural movement? Cycles? Lip Sync- get a sound clip off of www.10secondclub.net Natural movement- try a kick action or punch action or something like him jumping off a building Cycle- Try a walk cycle, crawl cycle, run cycle, etc.

On palm trees, at the top of the trunk it starts thin then as it gets lower, it gets thicker...just do this by selecting a group of CP's on the bottom and making them bigger, on the next group make them a bit bigger, third group, a teeny bit bigger, etc. etc.

My gosh..one of these pics should be in an updated version of the Art of Animation Master...This shows how much you can really push the limits in A:M...that's almost Pixar Quality

On the sand, I suggest using a displacement map...

Wow!!! looks like a photoshop thing, and considering that this is a 3D program, that's amazing! -
Yes...it's going to be animated and I was going for more of the cartoony look... thanks for the link...I'm probably going to change the model a lot..into a men's jacket form...
-
Wrong pic..that wasn't much to see...I mainly wanted to show how i rigged it..I have never rigged a model in a great way before lol
-
I was fooling with AM and decided to make one of those things used to help design clothes for proportions (not sure what it's called)..check it out:
-
how come when I get it I see "hotlinking not permitted..."
-
WOW..other than your idea it looks very realistic (the face) once you get the hair..oh my gosh that'll look awesome...how did you create that actual facial wrinkle..I know you did bump maps and your UV Mapping method, but I mean actually making the map??

That's one of the things I must tweak...I just took the poses and reversed 'em

I was creating a ship awhile ago (the "Squid ship")..I hadn't finished texturing it or touching up the actions..but check this out...it's supposed to be a spaceship acting as a squid! Squid Push Note: to view you must right click>Save target As>save or Right click>Properties>Copy full address> Paste into address bar> hit go! What I did to achieve: I watch some vids of squids/octopuses and observed the movement and timing..I then took that information and put it into simpler terms (into a cartoony look ship)...If you notice, while the tentacles are going downward you see that they have a slight bend in them for the pressure of the water.

You should use the free T-rex model off the site to battle him! lol

Somebody's gotta do it...Squidward's house!
