  1. The reason I started a new thread for this project is because my last thread on it was very boring...I didn't start well..so here's my first image
  2. you NEED to add lids and brows..the guy looks scared and freaked out right now
  3. Ok...SOMEBODY PLEASE REPLY...here's a cool shot I just got off the renderer...I forgot where the post is, but how can I duplicate a model in a chor w/ out dragging it in over and over again?
  4. Whoo hoo..I've never done this before...create holes...stupid porcelain material isn't working..I tried flipping normals on the five point patches but the black areas wouldn't go away
  5. Here's part of the soundboard..
  6. I finished the microphone/stand...
  7. Hmmm...the eyes don't look alive or 3D. Somehow add some specularity to them to add some life
  8. Not much to see..but I want to have a high amount of posts
  9. why, shoot the boozie and stab a knife in the cake! You're right..thanks..I presented the project today. I think I aced!
  10. Wow! that's great! The boxes are extremely nice, material-wise. I want to buy the sweeper..but I'm broke
  11. I will add more lighting..just wanted critiques on the material
  12. You can use meta balls to make models. I once read a tuturial for a different program that has this function. I made an entire stuffed animal bear out of a set of meta balls. This is the advantage.
  13. with metas you can create a model and basically, by hand, control each bubble you make. The meta balls are actual models, rather than a material of bubble simulation
  14. what's a .rar file?
  15. Here's the final..I like the style it came out as. the reason for the undetailed color is I wanted to reduce render time
  16. Yup I'm thinking of modeling a replica compass that Lewis used, but wouldn't that be a waste of time considering people already know about them?
  17. Here it is EDIT: I just noticed..the first board doesn't have displacement on the thin side whoops
  18. Thanks..it's fun making the models..but boring researching them
  19. List of tools This site has many of the methods/tools used on the expedition in the sextant section you'll see that there is a 360 degree turnaround of one..that was my reference
  20. In the showcase area, you'll see "chronometer", which is like a compass..it's very simple, though
  21. Very Cute..I suggest that the eyes be 3D instead of decals
  22. Check this out...another thing for my Lewis and Clark Project
  23. I just noticed that some of you mention texturing ideas...I actually don't have time to. It's all going to be a white render...I'm almost finished:
  24. More....I'm going to delete patches when I'm done
