  1. [quote name=Mark' date='Oct 1 2004, 10:40 PM] Great work I am wondering how long have you been using AM? I am waiting for delivery of my copy and this is making my mouth water Hey PFMark.... I wouldn't go so far to say I'm an old timer, as I am just a year into my 30s!!! but I have been using the software since about the mid to end of 1996. Thanks for the reply! Welcome to the A:M community! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  2. Kinda Fun! A couple spots were a little floaty in the character work, but overall a great watch! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  3. Hey Thanks a lot MyFault!!! I think it looks clean..... maybe that's a good thing. I have another action that I literally put together in 20 mins..... sometimes I feel if I don't think too much about what I'm doing, stuff comes out better. There are still some areas that could use work, but if someone were only to see this clip quickly without being able to replay it it might get by without a problem. I'm gonna touch up the channels if I get a chance.... I really think using the channels got easier for some reason.... Anyhows, a strut cycle..... http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/McTStrut.mov Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  4. Okay, here's the run. I didn't use blur in the render, but will probably set it to render over night. I'm pretty happy with how the render is looking.... http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/McTRun.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  5. Okay, I took a little while this morning to threw together a new run cycle and did a quick preview render(without toon). I am going to do a full render with Blur and all that later today. Spent sometime on the the channels to try and smooth out all the sharp channels a the begining and end of the loops data..... and have to say that the channels are easier to use than ever! Nice http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/McRun.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  6. Nice effect, but what if there is stuff on the tape's surface, like if it were film tape?
  7. Hey John, thanks. Working on the moving thing next! I'm trying to block out a schedule that I think I'll be able to stick to for my short. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  8. Hey All2Cool, thanks. I spent a lot of time messing with the "toon with gradient" in the toon tab of the surface property. I have 2 tick marks in the gradient slider.... 1 is all the way to the left as black and one is all the way to the right as white. I pumped up the specularity size. ON the skin I gave him a skin colored tone and added some ambient color as red with low intensity. That's basically it. The toon render is quickly becoming one of my favorites! 9. Hey guys, not sure if this is the best place to post this.... but I feel I have gotten the "new" look I was going for which is sort of a clean crisp toon feel. Anyhows here's the link to a clip showing it..... Still trying to get myself reved up to start on a short that I wrote for McKnuckles, but that's another story.... http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/McRunToon.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  10. NIce work. why not just rotate the model 360 on the y instead of spinning the camera? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  11. Nice Job!!! let's see a wireframe if you can Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  12. that was fun! Nice work! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  13. movie didn't load for me..... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  14. Yeah, that was the one part I played over and over. the cutting of the rope seems like it just wasn't happening right. I think the only way to fix this without changing which hand is doing what might be to exaggerate the cut before the Swashbuckler even grabs the rope. Then as the rope comes apart from the slicing sword, he grabs it just as he and the rope are begining to fall a bit back to earth. Might make it a little more dramatic too. But, I wouldn't go back and spend too much time on it, as the viewer can understand what's happening. Nice work Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  15. John, looks really cool. Nice job Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  16. Wow, great stuff. I can't wait for the finished product! It's great that you're documenting so much of this. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  17. Cool! when's blast off? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  18. Looks a touch like the renderers flat shaded mode..... I do get the sense of real character with the images though... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  19. looks good. the corners are too hard. make them a little softer..... beveling is the idea. Not many things in the real world, other than knives have such sharp edges. Good work Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  20. Looks great! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  21. Good job!!!! Ofcourse we'd love to see more so, you can upload the wireframeimage whenever you get around to it!!!! Nice work Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  22. Lee, Great work! I had a similar job come up a couple months ago and foud that A:M was the best tool to recreat the 2d character I was supplied with. The toon renderer really works well for this stuff! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  23. toon shader on perhaps?
  24. Looks way cool! Lets see the wires! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  25. Hey Mike, I see what you and Justin are saying.... I feel a couple things are contributing to the oddness of the head..... I think it has something to do with the mouth....but time will tell how I can handle it as I get some more time to spend with ol Tony here. I have to work on the neck next and that will probably impact the shoulders a little... Ok, thanks for the reply! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
