  1. Hey JB, thanks for the reply! The head.... Ya know, I've enlarged his head significantly and I still feel something is up with it from certain angles.... I think it has to do with the mouth not being modelled in the head.... also the top of the head might be to narrow.... Just not sure with out a decent reference image from the illustrations of the real tony. The neck is next.... I think the changes I have to make to the neck will affect the shoulders a little too... Ok, thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  2. Not bad!!!! Looks like you are keeping the patch count nice and low..... always love to see that! keep postin! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  3. Hey Hashers, so I got tony just about completely Cog'd... I still have to get to the fingers and neck, and do some touchups on the mesh, and fix the feet up.... hmm I guess there is a bunch more.... but if you get a min, check it out http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/FPose.mov Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  4. Mike you pervert!!!! I am laughing pretty hard here! Thanks for taking it down a level!!!! Ok, now for the clean part of the note!!! I see about the tails base on the back... I'll give it an adjustment and see how it goes. Thanks for the reply! Mike Fitz www.3artz.com
  5. And the backside! check it out if you get a chance http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/HipBsml.mov I'm really looking forward to controling Tony's tail with dynamic constriants. I bet it will look pretty cool! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  6. That should take 5 minutes to fix.... being the mesh is so clean. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  7. Hey thanks Mike! Hopefully I'll have him ready to walk monday! Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  8. Okay, I had a little while today to put toward Mr.Tony here and I finished up the scarf and put in the hip joints. Yeeeessssss, he's getting COG-d!!!! I am really happy with how smooth the models joints are rendering. I really like the toon shader in A:M..... I think it's one of it's strongest features. Anyhows, take a look if you get a chance http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/HipsSml.mov thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  9. Looks pretty cool! how about posting some wireframes too. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  10. Hey Zach, looks pretty good so far. I am however confused I suppose by the way you have layed down your splines. There doesn't seem to be any rhym or reason behind the areas that have a lot of detail. I would suggest printing out a wireframe of the side and front of the model. Then.... this is what I do, if I can(I know not everyone can do this especially if married)..... when going to sleep I bring the printouts and a pencil with me and I study the mesh.... look for what's not necessary. Then mark it up with your pencil. You'll find what needs to go. Then next time you rev up A:M, try cutting out the unnecessary splines. Immediately what I see should go are the number of spline loops between the top lip and bottom nose. There should be one spline loop between nose and top lip. that's all you need. Give it a shot. 11. I was thinking orient like arm1 and orient like arm2 for the webbing spline. Should work magnifecently!
  12. Ohhh, looking pretty slick! Mesh of the Webbing looks good to me. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  13. Hey John, thanks for the image! Will definately add to my eyeballing capabilities! You don't happen to have a "T" pose sitting around that you forgot about? I have a feeling that this Tony is ultimately going to wind up being more my version of him than the stuff I've seen.... but I kinda wish I had that image before I started thank ya Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  14. Hey John, thanks for the reply! Totally backing the Capsules! I know what your saying about the chest and sizing...... I tried sizing while modelling but with out any real reference I was having a hard time eyeballing it.... so after I finish all the pieces to the model I will start playing with scale of body parts and head Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  15. Funny Doug! Frosted flakes grind at my fillings too! thanks for the reply! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  16. Ahhhh, a scarf..... that word has been evading me for a few days now. I seriosly couldn't for the life of me remember that word!!!!! Thanks for the reply! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  17. Hey guys, okay got most of the neck piece assembled. Wanted to do a test render to see how it was coming along and I also scaled tony's head up a little bit and shortend the lenght of the neck. If you get a chance take a look, http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/dooRagS.mov thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  18. I thought it was pretty good. Not great though.... I saw several places where things could have been added. I mean there were a lot of opportunities for exaggerated actions.... like ducking the first time he heard a shot at him and the shock.... you just did the bare minimum to get past that part, when you could have made a great "character take" with that. Overall it was very well done and shows a lot of potential... in m opinion. Good work Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  19. Could you post a link to you animation? Mike Fitzgerald www.3dartz.com
  20. Hey Justin, thanks for the reply! I agree with the head, I also feel like I need to round out his chest and make it a little more of the barrell chest, at least up top. I am rendering a version with the mouth built in the geometry to see what might suit it best.... textured mouth or geometry. It looks like people who have created 3d tony the tigers before took great liberty with how they handled the mouth and head region. Anyhows, I'll post more as it goes. Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  21. Okay, so I got Ol Tony's tail attached... still no proper maps yet. Maybe sometime today, but take a look if anyone gets a moment thanks http://www.3dartz.com/WIPs/TailSml.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  22. Hey PIJack! Great images of Tony! You are a better web searcher than I for sure! I must have put a good hour or 2 looking for images.... while they aren't perfect they are very very good. Especially the firt one, which I'll be digesting very soon. Thanks! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  23. Hi Mark, thanks for the reply! I really do see what you are saying about the head right now.... I have tried a couple of different sizes to try and see if I can find the right scale.... but figured I'd have better ability to scale things once the full model is built. I do feel it is a little on the small side right now though.... With the lack of straight forward reference this is sort of turning into "my version" of tony the tiger. I would rather have perfect reference than having to make the judgements on scale and stuff on my own... but hey, its just for fun anyways! thanks for the reply! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  24. Hey, thanks Rogelio! Appreciate the reply! Next post should have at least the tail.... maybe some more appropriate stripes too. Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
