Maybe its because I am still using 13 h? Guess I will try if updating to 13 s helps...
-
I updated the model a bit and added the eyes and teeth, tongue from Gala. Maybe I could try to add your rig myself? Is it done the same way as with the 2001 rig? SimpleRigMan130808.mdl
-
According to my suggestion I tried to model a 20008 rigman. It`s not meant to provocate anybody in any ways. What do you think so far? SimpleRigMan130808.mdl

You mean, this can`t be tested in an action?
-
My good , coming from the other rigs that Squetchrig really looks intimidating. To begin with, just played around a little with Squetchy Sam. But where do I activate the Osipian face controls? After some fiddeling around in the dark, I got them to show up somehow, but they remained dead? Any advice?
-
One other suggestion/question: How about altering the proportions of the body to a bit more realistic standard proportions (like the Squetchy Sam for instance), especaially make the shoulders wider and the feet and head a little smaller? (he would need a new head for the face anyhow.) Wouldn`t that make it more easy to adopt it for other characters?

>I had plans for face controls using expressions and an installation rig, but why bother. ( for example the hand IK lock on/ off seems to make no difference to me, but thats probably because the whole IK on/off thing still escapes me,why I would have to put it on anyhow, still so much to learn... ) Do I have to install this rig like the Standard 2001 rig for the time being? Some face functions would be really great!!! I m afraid thats asking too much , but if possible, could you make a very brief beginners tut (maybe just a pdf or txt file) for handling this rig?
-
Hurra, I can post now as well. I am very interested in your progress. The hand looks superb. Maybe it would be usefull especially for the beginners, to have a list here of the pros and cons of the main riggs like TSM, 2001, 2008, Squetch? Thank you very much for your work Jake!

Hi Mark, >Boy, this is a tough crowd. No comments, nothing to say? Is Ken, David and Nancy the only people interested in the rig? I'm starting to think I'm wasting my time. I had plans for face controls using expressions and an installation rig, but why bother. I don't need the rig, this was for the community to use, so with no interest, there's no reason to continue. So I try to answer you here. Until now I use TSM but I find your handmovies very impressive! So please continue your efforts! I think, what would be quite usefull for beginners, would be an rough overview somewhere about the pro and cons of the most used riggs like for instance: 2001 Rigg: + > easy to install and use Marks Rigg: + > good to use, very good hands - > simple, outdated , no facerigg - > no installer yet TSM Rigg: + > easy to install, very flexible SquetchRigg : + > very advanced, face rigg - > (?) - > (?) Maybe you heavy users can say more about the pro and cons? Jake?

Hi Caroline, Nice animation. though it makes clear to me ,that her arms are way too short. ( I would say about one handlength )

music video for mobiles
jakerupert replied to thefreshestever's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
How`s this project coming along? I wonder if the mobile ring-tones business is such a big thing in the US as well? Anybody here has ever had some comercial succsess in this field? The conditions over in Germany seem to be rather attractive... Thanks ;>) Jake -
Sorry to interfere the techitalk with a simplistic question, but can you please tell me, if I understand this postings here correctly that you are working on a way to use the Squetchrigg within TSM2 in the same easy to use way like the Anzovin-Rigg? and -what would even be more important for me since this is missing within TSM2- also the face-Rigg? That really really would be worthwhile to wait for for me!!! Thanks Jake

That`s what I found in my TSM 2.0.7 folder.... manual.zip

what that is is a wave motion distorting a drawing of a wave this can be done in A:M make a long wide grid with numerous vertical splines scale it so 4 vertical splines cover 1 wavelength of the moving wave. (this looks to be about 2x the drawn waves) apply drawing to grid add 4 identical bones group every fourth spline to bone0 group every fourth+1 spline to bone1 group every fourth+2 spline to bone2 group every fourth+3 bone to spline3 keyframe the bones so that they are going up-down-up-down at about one cycle per two seconds, maybe 3 offset the channels so the bones peak one after the other instead of together

Yes but that would be finetuning. In fact I really wanted to achieve something more like this ( done with another application ) WasserBootX.mov
-
here the .mov MircoflyerTestD040608.mov
-
In an action I moved the wave from one hill to the next and squeezed it down at the same time and this is the result. What do you think? (In fact I a liitle bit more wanted to achieve the impresson of a wave rolling from one side of the picture to the other...) MircoflyerTestD040608.zip

I have the flat shape of a wave ( see picture) and want to animate it the way, that a wave runs through this shape from one side to the other. Can anybody give me some ideas please, what would be the best way to achieve this effect? Thank you

Hi Yves, Looks good so far. Supposed to be French or Italian at least mediteranian style house I guess? And I hope we are going to see your nice sexy girl-model in motion at last? ;>) Jake
-
Awesome! Is the surface made from materials or is it some postwork done in photoshop? Jake
-
please take a look at my project
jakerupert replied to thefreshestever's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
>This is potentially touchy. The caricature nature of the characters might be a bit too stereotypic looking in an unflattering way. It also depends on your audience (is this for a class? private project ?). It also depends on your story. If you are not of african descent - you may end up offending those who are. It depends on whether you want to be sensitive to that. The physical exaggerated depiction of the man's face is probably the more potentially offensive. Don`t let that kind of "scissors in the head" block your creativity!!!! It ends up with doing no more caricatures of Mohammed for fear of geting killed by some Muslim fanatics. Just imagine designing some black man with white mans bone features and then just painting him black. Maybe that would also offend some black people for looking so silly?! ;>) Jake I love these models and look forward for that movie. -
A couple of characters I finished

the bulldog I like best. Great design! Can you post the mesh please. ;>) Jake -
I guess I was mislead by an old Zandoria-Tut, that might not be valid any more , that stated, "that the new uv-editor would make the flattening obsolete". So can I rotate the uv-coordinated stamps then or would this produce this strange waves in the splines still after the flattening? Are this waves harmfull anyhow?
-
> But the uv-editor seems a bit difficult to handle. There seems to be no "undo" and only the rectangle-selector is working and also still without the option-key add function, right? This is what I got after some manipulating: The splinecurves show kind of wavy form and the hooks also look kind of strange. What expiriences have you got ?
