  1. Wow! That's a wonderful image. Lots of attention to detail. It kind of reminds be of the artwork for 'The Butterfly Ball'. What a great shame to miss the boat! Did you send it at the last minute? Well done anyway.
  2. I just wanted to add a big thank you to Ken, James and Hash Inc. for the kindness and generosity shown to us Hashers. I came away with a t-shirt and a poster and full stomach. Thank you guys! Hope you all got home without any hassle. Cheers.
  3. Pretty cool clay effect! But I still prefer the previous version.
  4. Stuart, it's good to know that you made the long journey home without mishap. That must have been about a 500 mile round trip! After Stuart left we walked in to the nearest pub that we could find and suddenly realized that it was actually a gay bar so we made a hasty retreat and settled for the local Pizza Express, so that Sam could have a bite to eat. It was quiet enough to talk but I'm not sure what the waitress thought when we ordered one pizza and 5 beers. I had to rush off to catch my train at about 11:00 and ended up jumping on the wrong train! Never mind. I got home eventually. It was great meeting up with Ken and James and all the A:M users who made the effort. I'm just sorry that we didn't organize something more special for Ken and James on their last night in London. Much of the group were pretty tired and didn't relish the idea of wandering around central London looking for beer. If you guys come back next year we'll have a proper pub crawl. MacExpo was pretty underwhelming, in my opinion, but I guess that opinion is to be expected from a pc user. I did enjoy watching James and Ken play the crowd and watched a couple of demonstrations of Photoshop, at the Adobe stand, which taught me something that I didn't know before. Gazzamataz, we missed you. The Daleks have been dispatched. Here are a few snaps. Sorry, they're not great quality.
  5. Pretty darned good I would say, especially for a second model. A couple of possible tweaks are the top of the head and the ears, which look a little flat at the moment. Perhaps this guy really has those features though. I like the folds in he jeans. Details like that really help to make a model believable. Well done and good luck with the hands and feet.
  6. I hear jungle drums. Very nice job, Ken!
  7. I think that if you try to turn that bike around in a clay environment it is going to be covered in clay! Very low rider! ;-) Personally I like the contrast between the textured and the smooth and shiney but, yeah, why not try the all-over clay look? Great work, Marcos
  8. Way to go, Smudge! Full steam ahead.
  9. That looks good to me, Ken. Maybe a woven mat of dried reeds stretched tight across the top?
  10. Great to see you back here, Marcos! Excellent work, as always!
  11. Heh heh. Actually I meant wings, as in Sopwith Camel. With a name like Barnstormer, and with goggles like that, he must have something hiding in that barn that will give him a lift. Anyway, Matt, I just wanted to say that this character looks like he has alot of potential.
  12. Look Who's in town! No, not the new Doctor. Ken Baer and James Hash are now in London for MacExpo. (James was still enroute from New York when I took this but he and Ken are safely tucked up in some little hole in Earls Court now. It's tough at the top.) Remember, folks, we want a good turnout on Saturday if you can make it. And if not ...exterminate...Exterminate...EXTERMINATE!
  13. O.K., Stuart, that's probably a good idea. EDIT: (number removed) PM me if you need it. See you on Saturday.
  14. I enjoyed the new commercial and the characters. You are building up quite a catalogue of 'turn of the century' Austrian characters with these Saturn ads. Could a period epic be around the corner? Your website is a pleasure to peruse. Keep raising the standards. Brilliant work! I would recommend everyone, especially newbies, to look at the 'Production Papers' folder HERE Hmm. You need to click on 'Our Work' to get to the folders.
  15. Capt. Barnstorm looks like a winner to me. He just needs his wings and he's ready to take us on an adventure somewhere.
  16. Saturday would probably be best for people from out of town and also, as the show finishes earlier on the Saturday, it would be better for a pub gathering don't you think? I'm open to any suggestions.
  17. Bravo, Manta! I think that is an AMAZING effort on every level. My only criticism is that the expressions, eyes and mouth, seem a little excessive to me. Oh, and I agree that changing the title of the story she is writing to 'The Cat Burglar', or something similar, might add to the clarity of the story. Maybe make that jewellery really flash when she handles it. I had to watch it twice to understand what she had done but there's nothing unusual about that. It's just me. Excellent! Thanks for posting.
  18. I don't have a Mac but ... I'll be there. It's always interesting to see what is happening with Apple and of course Hash will be there. We should set up a regular meeting time for A:M users to gather at the Hash stand. Say every hour, on the hour between 1:00 and closing time. I think that there are a few people who want to get together for a beer with Ken and James after the show. So, yeah, a show of hands would be good.
  19. Beautiful!!! I would love to see some background lighting on those buildings, just so it doesn't look like absolutely everyone has left except the girl playing the piano. Also, as already mentioned, some reaction to the water's surface when the particles hit would really help to sell the whole illusion. Just beautiful though! Thanks so much for posting here.
  20. Endearing little guy. Looks like he is ready for some adventures in life. Please post more of your project as it develops.
  21. Heavy! But so well done! ( And no, he doesn't look at all like me now that I can see him .)
  22. Hee hee! That is cute. He's like a very happy and excited child.
  23. Peter, this is beautiful! Even with no sound and the low resolution the emotion is coming across loud and clear. The girl's head is a bit hard to read, it took me a few viewings to be sure of what I was looking at. The rest is sublime. The mothers range of expressions produced a lump in my throat. The tilt of the head and the smile. I empathise completely. The light wafting of her scarf and the other draperies is uplifting and I can feel the welcome breeze. If you can see a need to alter anything then I guess you should trust your sensitivity to the subject matter and do it. Personally, I love it!
