Thanks, Jeff. I avoid porcelain except where I need a very puffy surface, without any small details. SSS does give a very nice quality to skin, and it does seem to be much faster than I remember it being, but I think that I will reserve use for just those scenes that demand it. A clue: While the average American was sinking she soared and lifted their spirits with her achievements.

Besides adding translucent properties to mass SSS seems to do much of what porcelain does, smoothing out the details and making everything look puffy. Maybe just my settings though. This is in A:M 14c. No. 3 is the only one without SSS and the heavy bump map is temporary. I don't know what is causing the problem with the right eye. If anyone can guess who this is meant to be I will be stunned.

I have seen the Fuchur and it is ...25?!! Happy birthday, Gerald!
-
That looks like a very good model, Myron! It just needs tuning now.
-
Myron sent me some good reference images so I have made some adjustments: Oh no! Not another full moon! Ah! That's better! Myron_E_A00b.mov Testing volumetric light.
-
There does seem to be a glitch with volumetric lights in A:M15.0f on XP machines but it might just be a refresh issue. (See image).

That is a terrific character, Gene! I'm still trying to watch Two Trains all the way through but I always get cut off about half way through in whatever browser I use.
-
Wow! I finally managed to see this. That was really pretty good! A big applause to everyone involved, especially to Gene the Spleen for getting the ball rolling and of course to Matt Campbell for some superb sequences and very considerate editing! Top job!

Yes. I'll fix that, although this character will only play an acoustic guitar in Fishin'. This character has slightly exaggerated proportions which may get tweaked back towards more realistic proportions. Not sure yet. Thanks, Mark! I will be using pose sliders for both the finger poses and for sliding the left hand up and down the neck of the guitar. The guitar strap is part of the character. There is a bone at each end of the strap and matching, "connector" bones on the guitar. The strap bones are constrained to the connector bones in an Action. As you can see, I forgot to add the orient-like constraints. It must be all the makeup and the lighting. I'm glad that you find him appealing. Am I anywhere near to a likeness yet?

ManA__Loop_A___8secs__A00e_comp_a.mov This is just the rigging test render that I was trying to post. Lots wrong with the animation, because this was just a quick test of the rig, but I think that there is probably at least one of you that would like to see/hear this. Download and set to loop.
-
Thanks for all the comments! Here is a test of the rig, which I am still working on. No weighting yet either. (It should loop) ------------- Edit: I have been trying to upload a QT file for ages but something is stopping me. It is probably my firewall but I am out of will power to keep trying...

Cool bus, Steve! I think that the creasing/dots that you can see are cause by that row of hooks.
-
I have only managed to see the first minute so far. My ISP and firewall problems are making it very difficult to use the internet at all at the moment but I will keep trying to see the full video. Well done for what I've seen so far!

Turn off particles until you are ready to render. Also, if you have other windows open make sure that particles are turned off in those views too!

A small update for Fishin': A man and some guitars. Myron360WIP_A00_mix.mov I modelled the guitars ages ago but as you can see they are very simple so I will be adding some detail where necessary.
-
Very cool Knight Rider!
-
It certainly looks okay so far. I have just been rendering some stuff which has a TSM2 rig and it is performing as it should. I haven't had time to actually start a new rigging session, I'm only rendering a model that was rigged in A:M 15.0e, but I don't expect any problems.

The Unfortunate End of the C27...
Paul Forwood replied to Kelley's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Curse you, Red Baron! Those are my chaps in the airship! Great storytelling with your pics, Kelley. -
Ah! Okay. I have never used A:M to compile a whole movie. That's cool!
-
Can you just copy the channels from frame 15021 onwards into a new action and use the new action at the desired frame? It sounds like you are doing everything in one very long action which is something that I have never stretched beyond about one minute. Frame 15021 would be around ten minutes into your action/choreography. Think about rendering out multiple sequences and editing them together afterwards.
-
Oh! My goodness that is a bad case of RSI! Great looking clapper!
-
Hooray! Steffen has released A:M 15.0f and now fog works with hair/particles! Seq01_Inro30fps_A00f03.mov Every tree that you see here is one hair.

I had several sequences that I was hoping to submit but only managed to get one half finished entry in to Matt. The others can continue to grow slowly until the next P.T.B. comes around. Well done on what seems to be great participation! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it all, Matt!
-
Wow! Lots of progress in here! A touch of "Steamboat Willie" and some Chuck Jones too! Well done to all the engineers on this train! Myron is fast becoming the most copied man in the music industry. There are two more look-alikes in Fishin'.

Looks good, Mark! You could rock the ship around, independent of the camera, and that could be the force which causes the cannon to flip back. Time is just about out though I guess.
