  1. This looks like fun, Gene. The quality of your productions improve with each new movie. Keep it up!
  2. Great looking character, Mark! I love the rendered comic strip too. One tiny little criticism concerns the posing in the first image of your comic strip. The glass that the captain is holding looks like it has been posed with a spirit level. Like I said it is just a small thing and may not be worth bothering with. I wish you every success with the Wannabes.
  3. Another incredible model, Eric! Well done!
  4. Lots of great stuff growing in here! Well done, Steve!
  5. I have just tried to reproduce the problem that you are experiencing in A:M 15f but everything turned out alright. See the following test that uses single patches with cookie-cut decals: CookieCut_TestA00.mov My example is only using flat patches and it may be that the curved surface of your cookie cut objects is part of the issue. Try adding a couple of splines, as Stian suggests. Try to keep patches as close to square as possible. That seemed to help sort out some decalling issues that appeared in earlier versons of A:M and may be worth investigating. I was having problems with the alpha channel in A:M 15e but Steffen Gross fixed that in the 15f release.
  6. Get the Fat Controller to sort out those hooks. He looks great, Stian!
  7. Wowsers, wowsers, WOWSERS!!! Beautiful, clear render, Stian. It really shows off all your incredible modeling.
  8. Now that my internet connection has been sorted I am catching up on all the stuff that I have been unable to view. I just watched Two Trains all the way through for the first time. Great progress, Gene! I look forward to following this new one.
  9. I tried a few more tests in A:M 15f. Here you can see that hair shadows ARE in fact working in A:M15. They don't show up if SSS is used though. For this image I had to get rid of my bump map and turn off SSS.
  10. She's singing "Blue Skies" and she's singing solo. So lo' you can't hear her. (Nyuk, nyuk, nyuuuh...)
  11. Thanks for the encouragement. HairShadowTest_AM15f__A00.mov A very quick test of hair in A:M 15f. Grooming seems more responsive and shadows DO NOT appear to be working. Render times are about three times as long as in A:M14c, and growing! That might be due to changes in hair or SSS in A:M 15. ------------------------------
  12. You continue to make steady progress, Gene. Well done! You could get rid of those creases in the face with very little work. Get rid of any hooks or deadend splines in areas that will be animated and then weight the CPs around the mouth so that nothing is left static.
  13. Wow! That is some huge achievement, Stian! Are you planning to texture and animate it? A 10 second turntable would be impressive.
  14. As I understand it AutoCAD is capable of importing 3DS files so, if you haven't done so already, try exporting from A:M in 3DS format. It is one of the most reliable export formats that A:M handles, producing clean polygon models.
  15. Started modifying the hat. AE_WIP_A01.mov 72 years ago, almost to the hour, Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra 10E vanished with Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, while making a second attempt to fly around the world. Some say they perished while others speculated about further adventures which have added a touch of mystery and intrigue to her image. Quoted from Wikipedia: The full story: Amelia Earhart
  16. Just proxy flying hat and goggles for the moment: AE_WIP_A00.mov
  17. Little update with lots of intersections:
  18. I am so pleased to hear that, Myron. The bit about Susan Boyle lifting your spirits. Robert... I am stunned!!! I have shadows turned on for the hair but they are not showing up. I'll try A:M15 later.
  19. Looking great, Mark, and very refreshing in the midst of the current heat wave that we are having here in London.
  20. Well done, Gene! It's a wonderful world. SPLAT!!
