Hey, that seems to work well. I put one of my old all-vector (no video) SWFs into it and it played back just right present.swf

Ruffle has a demo site that .swf file can be loaded into: https://ruffle.rs/demo/

I've had problems converting .swf file and have to remind myself what approach to use... particularly with the .swf files created by Hash Inc with Camtasia which uses the proprietary Techsmith video codec. THIS program will allow viewing of those .swf videos: https://ruffle.rs/#downloads That's a start. If worse comes to worse that program (or similar) could be used to play the .swf files while recording them and saving into a different format. BUT... There's surely another solution. Aside: When I use converters such as FFMPEG the result is cropped imagery that likely is the result of Techsmith's codec which only records changes (cursor locations etc.) Also: FFPLAY (the player that comes with FFMPEG) will play .swf videos such as the TechTalks and the audio is fine. It's the cropped elements of the screen that are problematic. They play but... the visuals are chaotic (see above). Added: A screenshot from the playback of the Composite TechTalk:

Gee fanx Rob! It was the latter… The fire and smoke coming out of Witchy Peg's broomstick. Going through all the files and renders I did on this project makes me realise how long I spent on it - months! But it is like going down memory lane it's all about 20 years old now I can hardly believe it…

Hi Gary, If you mean actual dynamic constraints on bones I think you will need to turn off the pose(s) in the model(s) that implement(s) the dynamic constraints. If you need to scrub AND see dynamic action you can BAKE Dynamics. This will bake them in for the length of the Chor Blue Bar. If you mean particles and hair, SHIFT-8 will toggle particles ON/OFF You can also add the button to any tool bar by dragging it from the Customize window to a tool bar. If you should need to scrub AND see particles you can BAKE them also. This will bake them in for the length of the Chor Blue Bar.

I am looking back at my 'Bella Bear' project I created back in circa 2006/7 so the files are old… I am having problems scrubbing through timelines using the latest version of AM. I keep getting 'Computing Dynamics' popping up and slowing everything down. Can someone tell me how to turn this off?

Well, nevermind, my player doesn't work anymore either. It may be hopeless

Hi Glenn, I have used SWF File Player to display a SWF and then I captured that with screen capture software to make a video of it. I have done that to convert old TechTalks to MP4
-
Bump... So, as I ease back into AM, there are a few "bumps" - like all the old .swf files I am finding while searching through my old hard drives and the AM Extra's I had collected back in the day. New PC, Windows 11, don't want to install all sorts of old software (that might be questionable. VLC fails, as does irfanview, because it required that Adobe flash Player already be installed. Of course, that hasn't been around for a while now and is not available from Adobe. I tried a couple of Online converters, similar results you mention above. Any recommendations?

wow havent thought about this for ages ! yeah scratched that iPad thing right off too much latency, I played around with wine on mac to see how well it would work in emulation or running through a translation layer, but it was dicy at best, the reasoning was, currently they have games emulators running mobile phones and what not so you could package something like a PC emulator and run Am on a iPad / tablet but way too much stuffing around and since AM is a niche app unlike video games stuff there's quite a few issues with it. I tried to see how it would work, but even parallels uses a very old version of OpenGL and then did further research, where some of the wine guys developed translations layers that would translate OpenGL to Vulcan and they were working on Metal as well, the machines have juice to do this, but no matter what I tried AM just didn't run properly. Im sure code weavers could output a packaged version of AM to run on the Mac Silicon, especially since how well the Apple Game Porting Toolkit is doing with PC Games, but that would be on Mac, they would have create something that could do this on tablet as well. Getting off topic, but for screen tablets I was looking at the 32" big screen pro wacoms as they have dual input from stylus and fingers, so you could model with a stylus and control pan / zoom etc. with programmed gestures and fingers, wouldn't mind trying this out it would be fun - but a huge investment which I aint got ha ha, may be if a good jobs comes up an it pays for it

It's worth trying to see if it works. It might be simpler to just get one of those smaller Cintiq knockoffs, though.

So, I thought I'd bump this back for any discussion on new Apps to make your iPad an extra monitor and use as digital drawing tablet for AM. I just tried Splashtop Wired XDisplay HD, since I already had it. It's somewhat functional, but connctivity even though it is connected with a USB C cable gave me a few problems. I'll be playing with it some more, but there was quite a bit of lag and currently I can't get it to connect (Windows App to iOS App) I was toying with Copilot on my new PC and asked for recommendation. The old usual suspects (from 10+ years ago) came up (Duet Display, AstroPad) but there was also Easy Canvas. Found 3 flavors in the App store: EasyCanvas MacOS 11.0 or later w/ Apple M1 chip or later Win 10 (WDDM ver 2.0 or later) iPad OS 12.2 or later 14 day trial purchace $11.99 EasyCanvas Subscription Mac ??? Win 10 (WDDM ver 2.0 or later) iPad OS 12.2 or later subscription $4.99 EasyCanvas 2025 Win11 or later iPad iOS 17 or later 3 day trial purchase $12.99 The first 2 seem to be identical (version 4.8.4 last update 9 months ago). The 2025 appears to be separate (version 2.0.5 last update 5 months ago). Read a bunch of reviews, found a few youtube reviews: this one is about the Android based Magic Drawing Pad, but he demos using it via EasyCanvas 2025 This one is using iPad Pro but with the earlier version of EasyCanvas Looking at the demos and for the price, it seems like it's worth a try. Has anyone tried it yet?

Hey nino banano.., I know you'll be promoted to use a new subscription for the latest version, and.., I see no reason not to do so, but.., what does your version AM:15 make it become usseless? Did you loose the activation code? In fact I'm really glad to have this last concrete CD of Animation Master!!! Not that I have trouble with net activation, but I am quiet a conservative person that has a rigid fear of computers hanging on the internet. I rather have a stand alone program that is free of the net, and that I can install and delete as much as I want. Presumaly most people don't have trouble with the one year annulation of the program. I'm just an owner that's very glad with something I can hold in my hands a a long life jewel to admire.

Fun to participate! Although it concerned pictures and not animations it still was a joy to join. watching out for the next contest. congratulations to the winners and all who entered the contest!
