We are looking to clean up Animation Master Code. This will mean dropping Windows XP. Please answer the poll below so we can see if the work to keep windows XP is worth it.

Will this be a V18 update or the next major release?

My unofficial thoughts...

It wouldn't make much sense as a effort for v18.

Also keep in mind that with the advent of subscription the concept of versioning is much more fluid.

Logically, any change that cleans up code to the extent of removing latency XP code is going to be a major release.

steffen wants to use the new windows 10 libraries for compilation of A:M. those are compatible till windows vista but not xp. this is why this question is asked.

i am not sure if this is only affecting new functions available in newer oses or if it will really stopp working on win xp all together... this would be a question only steffen could answer if you ask me.

see you

It probably won't run at all on XP.

I had to upgrade from Win 2K when Steffen moved to a compiler situation that didn't support Win2K.

I also had to build a new PC to do that because my old PC couldn't do Windows 7.

I imagine our XP users have older machines that can't be upgraded.

There should be no more updates to XP so yes the version of 18.0 will work on XP. and even if we change v18.0n in will work into the future of XP
