Hash, Inc. - Animation:Master

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

We are looking to add some shows to our list this year and next. Someone posted on facebook about Awesome-Con and I thought this would be a good place to ask also. If anyone knows any shows that you would think Animaiton Master would be a good fit. Please let us know in either a email, this post or facecook. We will look them over and may join them.

Thank You,

Jason Simonds

I recommend Creative Talent Network (CTN) which will be November 20-22.

It's largely comic book artists, animators and such which makes it a prime place to exhibit Animation:Master because A:M is more attuned to these folks than those whose focus is more toward technical proficiency.

The demos I saw before by Hash Inc at SIGGRAPH and what I assume James et al. still present is ideal for this type of event where creative types are sharing knowledge of classical approaches to animation but have a keen interest in computer animation.

CTN is still a small and cozy gathering in comparison to many other events but it's also a rare opportunity for talented folks to meet with highly skilled folks that one would never think they could ever meet in person. It's also where a lot of young students who haven't yet been jaded by 'industry standards' seek ways to express their creativity in their own unique way.

If Hash Inc will be there I will redouble my efforts to be there as well. ;)

The timing is right because exhibitor registration begins in April.

Is there a distance that you would prefer to stay within?

We need to be able to fly there and we are not looking for international shows at this time. We need to fly in because we are really bad at renting cars. So it has to be close to a major air port or something that has a shuttle service from the air port like long beach ca

At this time we are looking at

Awesome-Con(the travel is a bit much for us but we will see)

Creative Talent Network(The price starts out good but you have to add everything that normally comes with a booth) And i can not look at flights for that weekend yet.

The Dallas Comic Con has become huge. 50k attendees and it is now in the Convention Center in Dallas. It's in May. It's been taken over by foreign investors who want to make it bigger than San Diego (good luck with that), so they are pumping money into promotion and guests.

[EDIT] Nevermind. Looks like it's the same weekend as Awesome Con

  • 2 weeks later...

I want to thank everyone for all the ideas.

I really wanted to go to awesome-con but We can't make it this year because of scheduling conflicts. But I'm going to try to add a east coast show later this year and awesome-con is the top show to add in 2016. We are also looking to add more shows on the list including more local/east cost/and larger shows

Thanks Again For All The Help;
Jason Simonds
