Stillmore
Here is one I finished but never textured. Some of you long time users may remember it. It's a czech built german tank circa 1941. If I can get my old v8.5 of A.M. to run again (see post at Animation Master forum) I'll put the paint to it.
jamagica
Holy crud A. How did you do the big tires (duplication wizard, sweeper, etc.) B. What about all of the bolts C. Post wireframe view D. how many patches?
Stillmore
The road wheels and tires were copied and pasted, the bolts and rivets were modeled and placed on the model. The rivets were done according to Rodger Reynolds 4 patch idea. Many of the parts were done using the Font / AI wiz. The patch count is a heck of a lot. The track links are individually modeled etc. I can give you a number and a wire frame when I get my old version to run. I'm having a bit of difficulty with that right now. Here is a view from the rear right quarter.

Mega
Very, very nice modeling. Can we see wireframes? I would like to see how you layed them out. Nice job! Can't wait for the textures to be added... Tony

Stillmore
Thanks all. I built this about 3 or 4 years ago and never textured it. Found the right CD to run AM, so look for updates soon. Kamikaze: The rivets are modeled. No maps or materials yet.
bentothemax
Holy crap . . . That looks really good! The patch count must be over 30,000 . . . am i right. If my robot is just under 26.000 that must be ATLEAST that much are we going to see any animation?
Admin Rodney Posted May 15, 2005 Admin Share Posted May 15, 2005 Wow... I missed this post. As has been said already... great modeling detail. I love those diaramas from the scale modeling magazines. That's what your model really makes me think of. Here's hoping that you have something like that (a diarama) planned for this one. Bravo! Stillmore
bentothemax: The model is split into 6 pieces that are combined in the choreography. Tracks: left and right, 41,943 patches each. Suspension: left and right, 15,000 patches each. Hull: 15,816 patches Turret: 4,336 patches I think thats 124,038 in all. I can omit some interior walls that are in there. I modeled it so I could make the Marder self propelled gun that the Germans also built on this chasis. In fact there are about 6 or 8 vehicles that were all built on this platform. Rodney: I started in scale modeling. I have kicked around that idea. We'll see.
Stillmore
Heres a wire frame grab of the hull portion of the model. Most of the parts are modeled and assembled individually. They were mostly done using Howard Trickey's AI / Font wiz.

Kamikaze: The rivets are modeled. No maps or materials yet. Was that 3 or 4 years ago! It feels like about 6 months to me. Still looks great. Can't wait to see the updates.
