Spiral, how to?

I read somewhere that there is a way to make a spiral, kinda like a screw. Is there a plugin for that or an easy way to do it? See the pic for what I am trying to accomplish.

Try playing around with the duplicator wizard. If it can make springs.... it should be able to make screws.

Duplicator wizard is the key. Check out the latest Tech Note film whcih specifically covers this type of thing.

Very interesting... I was just now updating some links in the New Users forum concerning the Duplicator wizard.

 

Hash Inc's most recent Tech Talk does a pretty good job of explaining the process.

...and since we are on the subject of the duplicator wizard I'll add the other two in here as well even though they aren't screws/spirals per se.

Did you notice that yours needs to spin counter clockwise to go forward?

Thanks for pointing that out. I was so happy to have gotten the spiral down, I didn't notice the direction of spin
