camzilla Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I am glad to say my car is done. That doesn't mean I won't take help so if you have a comment or critique please let me know. Now I'm on to animation with it for a commercial I'm hoping to get. Quote

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 15, 2005 Hash Fellow Posted April 15, 2005 That's cute one! You might experiment with just a bit of front detail, like a bumper or a grill to give it a "face". Quote
JTalbotski Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I like the style, too! I assume the people who drive the car are just as stylized. Thanks for showing your work, Jim Quote

Thanks for showing your work, Jim Actually, at this point the comercial doesn't call (or pay) for any people in it. After I finish the project I will look at using it for something more important and creating characters for it. Thanks for the compliment Quote
camzilla Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 Here is an animation about 75% finished. Needs dust and a few other things tweaked. As always C&C is appreciated. http://www.camzilla.net/animation/carslide.mov Quote
jakerupert Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Are the wheels and the steering already rolling? Just try to solve some problems there myself.. See car-rigg thread...... The cars-design is great! ;>) Jake Quote
camzilla Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 Are the wheels and the steering already rolling? Just try to solve some problems there myself.. See car-rigg thread...... The cars-design is great! ;>) Jake Thanks for the compliments this has been a fun one. As for the rigging... Well I did this in a simple way that I double will work for other projects. I created a parent bone for the body and all non moving parts on the car. I used children for the trunk and hood. Then I used four different parent bones for the wheels and made pose sliders for the left and right turns. A slider for the body lean and an action for rest. I know I probably lost some respect with the simplicity but for the project I'm working on it is all I need. I will eventually completely finish the car inside and out with a fully functional rig. Thanks again for the comments Quote
Eos Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Nice car! You should try rendering it in a Ives Skylight scene. Quote
camzilla Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 Nice car! You should try rendering it in a Ives Skylight scene. I'd love to try that but I'm not sure what it is. Let me know how to do it and I'll give it a try. Thanks Quote
agep Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Here you'll find info about the skylight rig http://www.ypoart.com/tutorials/skylights-intro.htm. Nice car by the way Quote
camzilla Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 Any suggestions about how to make dust come up as the car skids around the corners. I have tried using particle systems and I have not been able to figure out how to get the dust to start and stop. Any suggestions? Quote
Newbert_Zero Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 you know that AM has dust volumetrics right? Quote
