  1. Here's an update to him. Most of the body is done, except for hands, inner mouth, and eyes. I like the 3d shaded look myself and is what I will go with in final renders.
  2. Nothing really. It's a simple head model of Darkwing Duck and I was just trying different outputs for the file. Anyone who has watched the cartoon or seen screen shots could give me an idea or two on how he should be rendered.
  3. Here are 2 renders of the same model. One using toon and the other a standard render, nothing special. Which do you prefer?
  4. Who's modeling Mario and Luigi?
  5. Okay. I've been using 3d painter to texture the face and horns. The effect is pleasant, if not what I'm really going for. It'll work for now. I've got the rig in place along with cp weights done. I still need to add fan bones around certain joints and I think I need denser mesh in the shoulders for it to animate better. So far it's coming along nicely. I also have a female version in the works as these two will be in a short I plan on making (if the flu doesn't kill me first!!!). Anyway, that's my progress so far...whatever....not as good as some, better than others

    Butts

LOL! No Rusty, I doubt the camera would do that but you never know. I always have the squat problem too. I have found smartskin, cp weighting and fan bones help. Thanks for the feed-back guys. Good idea about the butt-transfusion.

    Butts

I'm not really new to AM (5 years) but I still find butts to be a problem modeling properly. Any pointers. Here's a screen shot to show you what I mean.
  8. Changed my mind...a bit I got rid of his body and decided to make an orc out of him. Here's the progress so far.
  9. Four legged critters are very hard to rig, even harder to animate. I've always been a fan of The Last Unicorn so I decided to model and rig The Red Bull. Here are my results thus far.....
  10. Very nice model. How about some close up shots of details, doors, windows, etc. By the way if you want a simple better lighting simply place 3 klieg lights put 1 at 100%, the second at 45%, and the third at 65% and make the shadows to z-buffer. It creates a nice soft light. Good for presentation shots like yours. I'll be following this thread closely.
  11. Nice model. It's a real pain having to find the "NEW" forum for one model. You really should keep the topic to one thread.
  12. To add a light to a model simply right-click in the PWS and choose New Light. Drag that light into your models workspace. Swap to bones mode and your light will be there like a bone.
  13. Hmmm...sorry chap. You should definitly send in a report on this one. For me the above works. Perhaps you should try loading them directly from the CD?
  14. I also have ran into this problem. The work around is to simply double left-click the model you want. It should open no problem.
  15. Your butthead node is definitly better than my own. I'll have to tweak a bit. Update: Skeleton with weighted cps, smartskin, and fanbones complete. Facial rig installed with basic phenomes completed. Testing for facial animations in progress. I'll post some screen shots soon.
  16. Wondering if you'll get to the animation bit? Don't worry, I've been using animation master for 5 years and have managed to animate 5, maybe 10 seconds worth of footage. I spend more time modeling, rigging and texturing than anything. I like animating and can, I just prefer the others.
  17. Okay, settings: I set the thickness of the hair to 0.02' (I work in feet) Set the surface properties add a specular highlight, Size set to 45, Intensity 15 Diffuse Shader Muhair Add a second emitter with a darker shade with the settings about 10 below also using the Muhair shader. The thickness of the hair and the second emitter is really what gives your hair a good look. I'm sure another emitter or two would help give the hair more body and layers. I'll experiment a bit more and post details.
  18. That's about as close as beavis is going to get. I'm really just using it as a dummy for hair testing. I actually have a fully rigged beavis and butthead but they don't animate well because of the unusual shapes.
  19. Everyone is correct. Flip your normals.
  20. worked on hair over the weekend. I've got a pretty good grasp on what makes it look good and the dynamics. Here's my latest shots.
  21. Simple is sometimes better. I like the look. It's got that clay character look.
  22. Ya, I got a ton of B&B pics. It's just hard to take these oddly drawn characters and convert them to 3d. I think it looks good though.
