  1. Anyone got a link to a good tut on doing the female figure? I'm working on the body of my latest and haven't been able to get it right. I'm still searching around but I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction quicker. Thanks
  2. The commands for detaching and reattaching are simple. Shift K will detach the splines and then when you have two positioned where you want them right click them together.
  3. I havent looked at it but if your missing patches on the model then perhaps they are 5 point spots. If they involve 6 or more points you'll need to break the mesh at those spots and rework it so you have 4 or 5 point patches.
  4. Would love to see this finished Will. I'll keeping checking in.
  5. So here he is rigged out and being prepared for the start of my first official animation short. I downloaded a sound bite from the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou. It's 18 seconds long and is pretty attainable. I still have another character to model along with a few simple props. I hope to see this complete and keep everyone updated.
  6. The character is done. Not too sure about the pants textures. I'm open to ideas. Rigging in process.
  7. small turn around of the head with the facial hair modeled in place. turn_around.mov
  8. Here's the model I use for test animations. It's a simple model rigged with the setup machine 2. It only has one finger so as long as you don't animate them the actions can transfer to another model rigged with the TSM2. Cheers!!! manaquin_rigged.mdl
  9. Eric2575, you got me LOL. Yep, little extrusion and tweaking
  10. I whipped this up after seeing 9 this weekend. I still need to model the stitching for the seams. He's rigged and poseable. C&C welcome.
  11. My suggestion here... take it or trash it as necessary. If you ask for C&C don't be too surprised when you get it. That part of the deal. In C&C be prepared to take the good with the bad and filter through them both to improve your work. If something doesn't apply say "Thanks" and move on. Paul's response may have come across a bit harsh but harsh can be something you really want. If nothing else it'll balance all the 'looks great' posts. I'm playing around with various angles and the side one is not one I really like. Perhaps something close to the ground?>??
  12. Thanks robcat. What would you suggest? The leader of this project likes the lighting but I consider it too dark.
  13. Sooooo sorry if my architect skills aren't up to par with yours PaulX. The case being that this is for a game and is based off of a level in the game. What's wrong, your imagination broke? Jeez. I was wondering about things like lighting, textures, character design, that sorta feedback. Not weather my model blends well together.
  14. Here's a screen shot of the current project I'm working on. I'm probably at 75%. All models were done by me (the torch is a TWO model I needed for a placeholder )and my buddy Spear has done all the textures on the character. C&C welcome. Updated...New camera angle
  15. I'm currently working on a short film that will be used on a game I am currently working on. I've attached a short clip with Simcloth simulated. You can see the issues I'm having and would like anyone with experience to give me some pointers. cloth_test.mov
  16. I'm only using it up to v13 but i read a post earlier i the week in regards to this: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32122&hl= The person said they could use it but were getting funny errors. The fix was to rig the model out completely. Then once rigged, save it and close and reopen and the error is gone.
  17. Anyone know where I can download some pics of real human faces from various angles. I used to have a link to a nice spot but lost it. Nevermind, just found this place: http://www.3d.sk/index.php
  18. Thanks guys for all the feedback. I'll continue to tweak it until it looks right.
  19. For some reason when I model a face it tends to end up really, really thin. I cant figure out how to shape them more natural.
  20. Okay, moved a bunch of splines around. Redid the nose and subtracted and added a few splines. The overall feel is still good but I feel some of the splines need to disappear. Any ideas???
  21. LOL I didnt think I could make it worse but I see what you mean. Thanks. I'll continue to tweak it until I get a better look. Oh, by the way, not Peter Pan, the Black Cauldron.
  22. OK. I redid the splines like you suggested and there very nice. Although I'm still not sure bout that nose. What u think?
