Hey guys, i wanted to test the render speeds of my new machine so i threw this together and used net render to see how long it would take. Xwing_in_space.mov 1280x720p 30fps global lighting with full AO AO at 50% multi pass x 16 output .TGA 10 seconds total (300 frames) Netrender 5 slaves total time 1 hour 16 mins sound effects were done in post.

As im still editing the footage, i needed a break from doing that and decided to make a poster. a full size 8 x 10.5 poster for anyone who wants to print it out.

Is there another way to do it besides walk cycle? I'm open to options.
-
hey guys, got a bit of problem im trying to solve maybe you can lend some insight i got to have the robot walk up from behind the robot and kick the one guy in the groin and walk around to the other guy and do the same. trying to figure out the best way of doing this without animating the the entire scene by hand. orginal idea was to have him on a path and do the action and go on path again. but not sure how thats going to work. this is the scene. didnt do any of the robot actions yet just had him move into position. and yes my director wants the scene this long but maybe i can talk him into splitting it up. cave_scene_camera_2___00000.mov

HEY GUYS! well we finally found time to get back to work on this project. almost all animation is done! YAAAAA! now we are finally rendering out scenes. this was the first scene rendered out. let me know what you guys think. elf_outside_workshop.mov these are also frames from other scenes that we are still rendering out.

i remember that guy!

my new company i started working for 2 months wanted a background image for new machines built in house that was to be sold to customers. this was what came out of that. enjoy the background as a freebie from me

i restarted that jump from scratch. this one seems a bit better but something seems off. jump_forward_c.mov
-
ok ill experiment with that.. i think what happened was that i tried to move him too far for how many frames i used. thats why it seems off.
-
I already fixed some things wrong with the timing. and added some arm movements jump_forward_b.mov
-
Well New year, New Lessons to learn! i continue my jumping animation with forward jumping. i changed to thom model since he is super basic and works better for what im doing. this is my first crack at it. jump_forward.mov

this is a good visual study to doing dialogue with movement.
-
thats pretty good! you got the basic shape down. you can probably add the rest with normal maps and texture maps.

i was going more for the wax look. and i was going for a happy middle since rob doesnt know what he want yet, but i think this comes close.
-
Happy Birthday Rodney! (note to self... build 3-D cake)
-
-
if i had some idea of what you are thinking i could render something. maybe a bit more detail? so far i got not to complicated and not to simple. what does the middle look like?
-
Its a cherry lol.

here is the project if you want to look at the settings. SSS_test_02.prj
