I think you could stand another pose in there. Basically you have just one pose with slight variations.
You could try ending in a different pose (take your time pose your whole character and find a pose you REALLY like) its a pretty energetic sound clip you could get away with a lot. Think big finish.

Wow the guy chopping the wood is excellent! The witch has really good timing too. I think this is going to be a great shot.
-
I'm beginning to think this shot is too busy
and I was trying to be mellow. anyway I will cut out one of the poses and
try to get rid of the "hen on the hot grill" look
Thanks for the feedback!

Working on a shot for this week. Tinman is getting excited. Have all the main poses in there work on facial stuff and smoothing later in the week.

OK last revision, hopefully. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I tried to implement them all.

That looks really good. The only thing I notice is how linear the right arm movement is. Maybe just add a couple of keyframes to the IK controller to give it a little more or an arch.

Worked on it a bit more. Changed poses a little. got rid o the "W" pose (thats the chrome ball on the checkered board of animation) I was trying to get away with it but Dhar pointed it out pretty well in his drawing. moved the camera just a little and just tweaked a little. still no lip sync.

Well here's the next update. A bit of facial work done and trying to iron out the swing. There's still some popping I'm trying to get rid of. The size of her head is also causing problems when her arms raise. Let me know!
oooh you have a fun shot. It may be funnier if you make her look like shes stuggling more just to lift the axe. Now she doesnt look she has much of a problem lifting it over her head or holding it there.

I was thinking of asking for the same thing this is awesome.

Nice acting Mr. Seymor.
It's not often that I get to critique your excellent work, so this time I'll go for it
My obvs. - lower the camera a bit.
- exaggerate the arms movement.
Other than that - nice work as usual.

Thanks, I will give that a try
Great! Like it!!
But why is he looking up short after the beginning?
David
I had him looking up kind of rolling his eyes but changed the poses around a bit. I will change that.
Thanks

Ahh it feels good to animate Haven't touched A:M in a while but thought I better jump in since everyone else is.
About an hour or so into this. plan on refining more later this week.

I lied. I tweaked a little more.
Started to play with FACE interface, just made subtle changes - made more exaggerated eyebrow lifting & more of a sheepy grin
Looking really good. When he raises his hand and says "yes" it would be a good chance to use a little squash and stretch in the torso. Also you could turn the right arm IK on. It maybe an easy way to loosen up that arm.

Hi all
So will it be that there is no way to develop a little program or plugin wizard to allow for COLOURED KEYFRAMING within AM!
Jof
I like the idea. I suggested it a couple years ago when the fellows were voting on new features but there was no interest. It would be a cool little feature I haven't seen it in any program. Submit it to AM reports and keep submitting it until they implement it. May be a while though.

I don't know if you think you're getting good value for money with Animation Mentor, but we're getting fabulous value for your money!
I guess TWO is as good a place as any for that, right?
If every shot in TWO received critiques like that this would be the best place on the net to learn character animation. Hash would sell hundreds of software and we could have the movie done in no time. So you better get busy.
Seriously though IMO this is what TWO needs.
ps. I used to do the animation showdowns too they were alot of fun.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzReally nice animation! I especially like how "loose" the character feels. Have any tips or comments on how to achieve this?
thanks

Well I took a stab at putting what I learned into practice with scarecrow. (It's brighter than it should be due to the H264 format).
I couldnt see the victors tut but I like how extreme you went on the squash pose. You can get away with a lot for a couple of frames like that. Maybe a teeny bit better if you would have lead in with the brows more.
Nice work!

excellent work! I agree that texture looks much better.

Now that was worth the wait!!!
animation, modeling, lighting, everything!

Collision detection is not set to on.
Stupid question but how do you turn it on?
I looked but cant seem to find it.
-
I think I found a bug. I edited the dynamics to the sleeves to have the dynamic target set to spring, now I can't edit the relationship again. The dynamics do work, you just have to turn them on in the pose slider window (enforcement, top slider in each setup folder). The only problem with simulate spring system is, it turns the simulate on the fly off.
Make sure the enforcement is at 100%, I should have made it an on/off pose. Use the dynamic stiffness pose slider to make any adjustment to the stiffness.
Yep, just tried out the updated model. The dynamics work.
The ear ring looks real good. The necklace looks good too.
but cant get the sleaves to work they keep falling off of the arms
and just cant get the bracelet to move enough, like it does in real time.
and the hair seems to be working good also.
I see what you mean about the simulation turning off the real-time
Thanks for the update!

Ah, I didnt think of simulating spring system. I will give that a try.
I also attached action file if you want to give it a go,

Hi Mark,
Rendered the shot again. This time the dynamics dont seem to do anything at all.
Can you share the dynamic settings you wre using?
In Real-time they were working, except the sleaves I couldn't get them to do anything. Unless I turned them all the way down and then they just fell off her arms.

Thanks

Mark,
I'm having technical difficulties with that model.
when I try to load it I get an error. It says error in model file, spline attachment.anchor=1 cp=262149
If that means anything to ya
Can you try uploading it again ?
Thanks
David
Forget it I was behind a version. Damn thats embarrassing
