HaHa,
I think this could be very funny if they were standing on an iceburg in the middle of the ocean maybe some snow blowing in the wind

HI MIke.
I'm with ya on that. I would like to somehow be able to assign splines to nulls and bones so you could make any shape you want and be able to easily select them in skeletal mode. It would be alot easier to set up custom rig interfaces. I suggest this to fellows but not any interest.

I didn't get a chance to vote but that tractor is a great piece of work. Would love to see it with a background. Wouldn't mind seeing the reference photos either. Anyway congratulations on the win!

Thanks!
I much prefer a printed copy.

Hey, nice job robcat2075! It is fun to see what people come up with in just for hours.
JohnArtbox, you can enter any time on wednesday what you do is send them an e-mail with a code on it and it will bounce back. you have four hours from the timestamp to send your animation back in to that address.

heyvern, you kill me! Would it be too much trouble to make an audio version with drum roll and all?

yep, I think you are right in the early versions of v10 you could tack bones into your timeline. push the tack down and drag your bones into timeline and they would stay. which is how it should work but I dent know if they changed it or what I haven't been able to do this in a while. I know this is no help but I would like to find the answer also? David

I dont think there is an option to directly control frame rate for realtime playback but what you can do is: -under tools/ options/global uncheck skip frames if behind -depending on the weight of your model press page up or page down to control the speed of playback -then you can zoom in or out to fine tune playback speed I was able to get it to play back pretty smoothly at 8fps David

Now we all know about the new hair feature, and if they spend all of 2004 just polishing the features they already have, surely that would be worth the $99.00
It would be cool though if they did release a statement of thier intentions for the new year.
Cheers

Hi Sean,
I have some comments on your animation, but could you first post a direct link to your animation file. I would like to download it so I can make sure it is playing OK?

Hair looks very realistic, luv the style! The mix of realistic and cartoony proportions I think you hit the nail right on the head. nice work!

I originally animated this test in ver 8.5 but the motion blur didn't look so hot, so I got some time last night to tweak and rendered in version 11.
1.5 meg

Thanks

Is there a way to reduce channels with out effecting the animation at all?
When I set the units of error tolerance to 1 it really messes up the animation and when I set units of error tolerance 0 it doesn't do a thing. It seems like there should be a way to delete all the unneeded keys that are just in a straight line in the graph editor, besides doing it by hand like i usually do?

Hey model look good,
It looks like an old 1 ton roller which are still pretty common today you see them a lot still used for paving small jobs like driveways and such.
The first thing that jumps out to me is the lack of operator controls most of these rollers had steering wheels and a lever for forward-backwards control but a few had stick controls for steering also.
I would just mount the caution light on the ROPS.
She does look like a sweet little roller just thought i would give you a couple suggestions.

Elbow Joint

Another little tip for the elbow joint when using FK. Change the manipulator options in the bones properties from standard to rotational and uncheck the Z and Y axis. this way the rotation manipulator will automatically come up when when you select the bone and only in the x axis. This saves you from hitting the R key and prevents you from rotating elbow on the wrong axis. Good for lazy people like myself.
