  1. The script reads

    1_01_29

    SONG ends.

"The sound of the cart fades. WOOT sighs, satisfied. His eyes catch sight of something ahead of him."

So instead of the castle reveal would something like this work for the next shot? Showing a little bit of the castle off in the distance.

or am I thinking too much into this

    castlesemireveal.JPG

Then save the castle reveal for the last shot in the sequence or would we be better off not showing the castle at all until the reveal?

  2. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not...

If I select a regular geometry controlling bone, hit Compensate Mode Button, then Force Key Button (to reset it to its default values) the bone and its accompanying geometry do what I expect.

But if I do this with a null in the FACE rig, the NULL does go back to it's default state, but the geometry associated with it stays in its old position until I manually nudge the Null (which of course means it's not in it's default poition anymore).

I can work around this, I was just wondering why it is

I think that is a refresh thing. It should work if you hit the spacebar after.

  3. Thanks for the feedback.

Now after looking at the shots together and hearing from others it's clear that the reveal of the castle comes to soon and appears to be just on the outskirts of town.

Maybe changing the castle reveal shot to just a glimpse of the tallest tower far off in distance in a break of the clouds or something else along those lines, just to give a hint of the castle being there would work.

Then Woot jumping off tree and running towards it. Followed by a couple of shots of him walking through the woods with different lighting to show the long journey.

After that the reveal of the castle.

I'm gonna look at Shrek again I can't remember exactly how they did it.

Are the lines in the script correct now? If they are I could have my wife do Woots MoM and my son do Woot so atleast they would have the correct dialog.

  4. end.mov

I edited the shots that Ive been working on together to see how it looks. There are a couple shots I haven't touched yet (the turkey pulling the cart and the last shot of Woot walking(I hate cycles)) but I'm curious to see what you think about the pacing, camera work and basically if its watchable before I go back and start tweaking the animation and replacing the proxy models.

    thanks

  5. I don't know if they're needed, but I felt like modeling some low detail background trees. The thing is I can't get alpha images to be transparent. I've tried PNG and Targa. However, the cd alpha images seem to work. Maybe someone could take a look at the project and see if they can get it to work. Cheers.

I got it to work :P change your decals to cookie cutter

  6. Hi,

Woot has just jumped off the cart onto the tree limb. Now the cart has passed under him and he's looking down at the cart on the ground waving goodbye to it as it drives off into the sunset.

Thanks for the suggestions I will get them next pass.

    David

  7. _1_01_26_take4.movWorking on this shot now...Trying to make woot look like he is fooling around just having fun. Still needs a lot of work but have enough to see what it gonna look like. I'll change the file name when I upload it. The 4 is just the number of quick renders I have done.
  8. Hi there,

I like the way they are looking back at first. Im not sure how scared they are suppose to look. Right now it looks like a fast walk.

It may be funny to get their legs moving a lot faster like a 10 or 12 frame cycle. It would be ok to let their feet slip on a shot like this making them look like they are trying to get the out of there fast.

  9. Hey, are you picking on me? ;)

The landing is funny. The first goose looks like he had few too many.

The problem I see with this shot is the viewers eye will be on the first goose right to the end of the shot. All the way until he looks up at TW. Which is cool if thats what you are going for but if TW is suppose to be the center of attention the goose should recover quicker and look up at TW sooner maybe stopping infront of him.

  10. What's that word that Martin used? Oh yeah... Pansy :P

So how are you getting there? How about I pick you up on my bike? Go get your self a full set of leather riding gear I already have mine although it's kinda Scratched up alot since my fall last summer. So we get a really Loud CD player and just as we drive up Martins drive way you hit the play button and we play "Born to be Wild" Then with a weeks worth of dust on us and bugs in your teeth we both knock on Martin's Door. ;)

    Now your talking

  11. Hmmmm....maybe I will just let this go for now. I know its not quite right and I was thinking of just cutting the goose but I dont really want to do that.

    Thanks Paul

  12. That's much improved! I think you need to use the "heel raiser" bones to stop the slight pop in his knees at the start. I got abit disorientated going from shot1 to shot 2. In shot 1 the goose is in front then next instant he's behind woot. I appreciate there can be time lapses between shots, but I don't know there should be one there.

HAH, thats what I was trying to see if I could get away with.

    Thanks Ken

  13. Worked on this shot some more. Adjusted the eyes and head so it looked better. Also been working on the shots before and after this one. I have been working on the continuity of the shots before and after this one, so I added them on also.

  14. Here is my start on 02_08_52. I've done most of the lip synch (might need a lot of tweaking?), and I have started on the face animation. At this point I'm far from satisfied with the face animation and will work more on that. after that I'll begin his body animation

    2_08_52_take.mov

Looks like your lip sync is coming along well...maybe still a bit too many mouth shapes. Usually when doing lip sync less is more.

Start off with just a shape for the beginning and end of each word. Then go back and put in the inbetweens where you think you need them. Its easier and less confusing to add keys to a lip sync then take them away..And its easier to see which ones you need. thats my take on it anyways.
