I like #2. That really has a nice look about it. # 3 looks pretty cool too. I can see that little heart pumping in there now.

An out-of-date error means that a file has been changed since the last time you updated your local copy. You need to update to the latest version of that file before you can commit. If there's a conflict between your local copy and the newer copy on the repository, SVN will warn you of the conflict and create 3 copies of the file in question: the last one you dowloaded, the most recent one on the repository and your current one. If there's a conflict AND you don't resolve it properly you might lose your work.
I looked at the log and I was the last one to change 1_05_28.cho on June 29th. For this case, I suggest you make a copy of your local "1_05_28.cho," SVN-update the file and if a conflict occurs resolve it with your changes (in the SVN window, right-click the error message and choose "resolve using mine"). If something goes wrong you'll have a copy of your work to fall back on.

I like the red below the purple one. It looks worn.
Thats the one I like the best too. The other ones really remind me of a perfume bottle.

Did you try to receive first before sending?
No, I did not try to receive first. I never had to do that before. Wouldn't that overwrite my shots if I did that?

I was looking at this model yesterday and just had to see it move. What an awesome model! The way it is modeled and rigged with all the dynamics. I spent way more time on this then I planned probably 5 hours or so. It's such a pleasure to animate its a bit addicting and still haven't touched probably half the controls.

Excellent - I've always loved your style -
so much so that I bit the bullet and finally installed qt 7 just so I could see it (and motivated me to I figure out how to have both qt6 pro work as well)
You have excellent gestures on the cowboy - very believable, natural - the kid is good too - but cowboy is better.
Thanks!
Sorry about the compression. I'm just getting so used to the h.264 codec now. You cam blame strohbehn he's the one that turned me onto it

I still can't believe you deformed the head to look like that. That's insane. Please don't take this wrong, but I'm almost more imressed with that than your excellent animation .
I'm impressed that your impressed I should have deformed the model with a pose slider so I could have a morph movie.
-
That is really good animation. 7 or 11 out of 80 is really good sucess!
Lookin' forward to see more!

Thanka, Its alot better then I thought it would do. Hopefully better next time. If there is a next time looks like the ten second club may have died.

Ah finally a little taste of the DreamWorks magic
Great character too!

Thanks for the comments peoples!
@ Zaryin It is the same head all I did deform it a bit. I didn't change any of the splinage. I would have rather used the model the without altering it though. Excellent character.
@ itsjustme I did enter the contest. It came in like 7th or 11th out of 80 entries. I still haven't quite figured out their scoring system.

I wasnt going to post this but havent had anything to post in a while so....
A little 10 sec animation I made in march. The Cowboy is a modified skinny farmhand model and the kid was modeled by Alain.

Who did the FACE poses for Tin Servant (Ken, do you know?)
I did the face poses originally on the tin servant but I think someone else worked on them after too.
-
Nice work! I like the way he takes off running and the facial stuff is very fitting.
-
That is an outstanding model! Would be cool to set it up with dynamics and watch it fall apart at sea, Nice work Captain!

Just made a quick pass on this shot. I'm curious if this is how he should be acting? I'm not sure if he should be more excited or not. the voice sounds kind of serious and mellow though.

Thanks
David
David most acting is reacting even though he's telling the universe his feelings its the guys around him who should react to his promises. Its like a guy telling his buddys of his new plans he'd look left and then right at them then finally at the stars and they should respond accordingly with agreeing nods or what ever says we agree or comedically "like what a jerk".Even though the dial is sleepy Tin can punch cartain thoughts in the dullness with fist accents or with determined head nods. The point is the less he does and the more they do the more youll tend to believe the cornball dial.I think i might straighten his crown on his head on the line rather than present it to the stars. look in the mirror, long speeches really force us to see our own acting. Something new and meaningful usually imerges rather than pulling it out from our internal acting instincts.thats why alot of animators work in the same room with each other to observe each other at these times.Just passing thru hope it help s.Incidentally in my oridginal storyboard i got off him and cross faded to music and got to the long shot as quickly as i could just because io felt it was alittle long winded but neccesary to show his intentions.
BobT
Bob, That helps a lot. I would have never thought of approaching the scene like that.
I agree though its the reactions of the other two characters that will really make this shot.
also see what you are saying about holding the crown to the stars that is a pretty generic gesture and probably the first thing that would come to anyones mind when hearing the audio.
Thank you much for chiming in!

I know it's first pass, but I'd like to see it a lot more snappy. I guess the voice doesn't help much. It needs to build gradually in to a crescendo as tinman works out his vision for Nimmie. This is a pivotal scene....as it's the whole reason for their journey.
I envision the actions to be more with the head frantically moving from position to position....constantly looking/seeking out his ideas. His hands and arms punching the air with each new idea.
Thanks Ken, That is what I thought too but I just don't hear it in the soundtrack. I listened to it quite a few times. I can try it that way but dont think it will be very fitting to the voice. This is the final voice track?

That is a great robot! thanks for sharing it.

Very nice theatrics David.
At the end, it seems like he wants to put his hands behind his back, which would have been great if he did
Hah you are very perceptive. I did have it going behind his back but changed it so the cut to the next shot would be smoother. Thanks Dhar.

David,
It seems to me like this shot might benefit from a slight zoom out/pan or other camera movement.
Tin Woodman is all scrunched up there at the top of the frame at the beginning... but moves to a seeminly more natural location at the end.
Just a thought... I'm not sure what you've been directed to do.
Thanks Rodney,I agree but I don't think Rhett wants me to touch the camera though he will probably adjust it a little before he renders it.

Did not feel like tweaking today so I bocked this shot out (the fun part)
No facial stuff just getting the timing and acting still have a background character to animate.

Second pass added some bounce to his walk. Tried to make him look happier and still fit the voice.
First time with the tinman so im not too sure of how hes suppose to act yet.

Sorry to have messed up your shots David. THat's what I get for rushing. I'll take care of it ASAP.
I do the task assignments and descriptions on dotProject after doing the shot layout. The information on dotProject is what you should work from and it may not always match trhe script. For this shot, waiting until Tin Woodman is at the window to begin his line leaves a long silence between when he's seated and when he reaches the window.
Thanks for beign cautious but David had the correct description.
As for the shot itself, I know the audio doesn't get this across but Tin Woodman is getting pumped up to go find Nimme Amee. So he's getting more excited and happier as he talks. Just before the shot ends it he seems to get a little sad as he stumbles. Keep him buoyant and proud as he exits.
Thanks for clarifying that for me. I should have checked to see what you had in the DOT project.
One pumped up tin woodsman coming up

Excellent. getting it now. For some reason the dynamics actually look better in real-time then they do in the final render. Have any tips on that?
