  1. Not sure what PI is simcloth ..... but tried the plugin_64.dll and AM crashes on startup...
  2. did you ever post a sample PRJ that crashes for you? I think it was you who posted a simple simcloth prj for me that worked for you and I tried it and it crashes on my PC ..... I still use it for testing each new update / version that comes out ..... it's just so odd ..... 17a 64 fine after that crash @ simming.....if I had a clue to know where to look ..... at least 17a 64 works as well as all the 32 bit versions .. so I'm getting along just fine .... I just hate weird problems I can't seem to figure out....
  3. Clothsim...64 bit Ever sense 17 b (17a clothsim works) and beyond in 64 bit only...Clothsim crashes AM once simulate simcloth is activated ..... works fine in 32 bit ..... this is crazy..obviously it has something to do with my laptop only ... just wish I knew what could possible be causing it... I keep my computer up to date .... all things seem fine other wise ....... Mike C
  4. Nice work, and very interesting project !
  5. Oh the memories ! .... love it John.....and it looks perfect...
  6. I do love this project of yours and those characters .... !
  7. John, Was it used to animate the mat only...or the flower movement too? a lot can do, this plugin new !
  8. As long as your still at it ..... all's well .....!
  9. How do you come up with these ideas.... never mind...it's in your title... tinkering! ...cool !
  10. Well that sure seems like it was complicated to set up !..very neat !
  11. Did some more work on the sails ...had them at the wrong scale so scaled them down and reshaped them a little along with their height ... added a canvas material to them .....but did not change the force and then re simmed. using an down look camera angle ... bout time to move onto the other two sails..... then back to the ships other exterior props and rigging...... OK finally got all 6 Sails flappin in the winds ..... it's treacherously high seas there matey ! Sails_x4.mov Sails_x6.mov
  12. The wood use (oak usually) was seasoned and with fine craftsmanship at the joints and when bands where applied to tighten the joints then filled with water to expand the wood and make a nice tight seal ... I have seen it done once and there may be other ways of doing it but no glue!
  13. Worked a little more on the sails, putting up 4 and seeing how they sim together ..... I like the way they react to the force but they seem to similar in their action even tho I move the force around and vary it's magnitude, I'm only using one force here w fan, tried vortex but sails get all mangled up, tried adding turbulence but see no change...may have to have a fan on each sail........ Clip here of 4 sails simed and a pic of a redone skeleton model....no render as lines now patches ...what I've done here is try to be sparse with the patches for animating purposes , the skull is a reworked skull for the Eugene skel. model and the ribcage from the same model the rest is quick modeling of the other bones etc. I did not like the look of my render as lines skeleton when rendered ....... Sails_x4_trim.mov
  14. Do I need new glasses or do you? Merry Christmas........
  15. Wildsided.. I see a syfy version and a Saturday morning version....nice model !
  16. Those were good......you may have a job in "snowman" animations ! as well as material effector
  17. Well add me as one to help you get to 70,000 ....don't remember seeing it before.....that was a good animation to say the least..it even made my back hurt ! ...
  18. Have a nice Holiday everyone !
  19. Smile..you know you're right ..... a useful re-purposing on an old cassette tape.....
  20. More updates, In here I post of the Pirate Man decked out a little in head garb.. and then a clip of a simcloth test on a ship sail... Sail_Cloth_a.avi.MP4 BH_hat2.e.avi.MP4
  21. AMers On my Pirate project I'm thinking on attempting to get the look of stop motion like seen in those old Sinbad movies (those skeleton sword fights) , what approach would/could one take in getting that effect/look in AM ... animating is by no means a strong area of mine..that is if I have a strong area.... Thanks, Mike "Kamikaze"
  22. Went ahead and did some more experimenting with the Beard.....I'll work on a few patches and see about adding an image to the hair, and go from there ..it renders pretty darn fast ....... BHc.MP4 BHe.MP4
