  1. I'm glad you're still making progress. That's crazy detail you're putting in!
  2. There are several of those I'd like to see animated. Good entries! Next contest, let's try to have twice as many people entering.
  3. What are the lines?
  4. My big problem is the irregular geometry of the back of the house. It will be difficult to drape anything over it and cover the things that leak and not create a potential collecting area for more water than the structure could hold.
  5. I've got two entered. I think that will be it from me.
  6. I've needed to put a new roof on this house for years I need to rip off the old roof first and I need to be able to cover the house while I do that. The largest tarp Home Depot sells is not large enough to cover the whole roof at once so I'm using A:M and Simcloth to test out various placements and to see where likely places to tie it down will be. this is a somewhat accurate, full size approximation of my roof and a 60' x 40' tarp:
  7. v17 is still "beta" (save frequently), but it is indeed faster. Ya know, I think back in v14 they did have the renderer using multiple cores but it was unreliable so they dropped that.
  8. One day to go! Get your entries in!
  9. Upgrading to v16 64-bit would probably shave at least a third off that. Many speed improvements in the last few years. Yes, A:M's renderer uses 1 core. However, V16 includes Netrender so you can task all your cores with rendering.
  10. I'm not real big on perfect teeth. When I can get away with it I just put a white semi-circle in the mouth to take the place of the row of teeth.
  11. Welcome back to A:M! Glad you are still with us!
  12. Basically, animators pose and keyframe things to be where they want them to be (on a table) and not where they don't want them to be (in the table). If you are having trouble keeping a hand from going thru a table there is some fundamental basic mistake happening and we want to identify that sooner rather than later so you aren't hobbled by that.
  13. Newton Physics
  14. I don't think Ken looks in here too often, but happy birthday, none-the-less!
  15. Look for tutorials on "Newton" physics. That can do what you want.
  16. And thanks for all your work in testing A:M! Zurück zum Geburtstag!
  17. Haben Sie Spaß an Ihrem Geburtstag!
  18. First I'll say you should learn to install a standard rig like TSM2, or AM2008, or "Lite". They have the most functionality for the effort involved. However, sounds like you need to learn about "IK" See my "Simplest IK Leg " video for introduction to that: http://www.brilliantisland.com/am/amtutorials.htm And an arm is not much different... http://www.brilliantisland.com/am/amtutorials.htm Other members have made some fine tuts with more detail on rigging. Hopefully they will join in with links.
  19. Good. I had no clue.
  20. Welcome back to the forum! Here's how it works in v16 presently if you're trying to do it all in the chor. Also it helps to set the "Diffuse" falloff of the ground model to 0% try that. I have v13 and v15 but not v14
  21. These dead-end splines are guaranteed trouble...
  22. It's always been unsigned before. I presume it still is.
  23. I'm on Firefox. It comes up like any other web page for me, no sign-in needed. I guess you're on Safari? Maybe there's a setting to enable "anonymous ftp"?
  24. Happy Birthday to the Prime Tinkerer! Thanks for all your helpful experiments and contributions to the forum!
