Hello Hashers, Since I thought it would be a good idea to at least get semi-reaquainted with A:M during the night, I decided to create something I'd seen on TV. So what better then a simple character like Elemental Hero Clayman, from some TV show I can't remember the name of on CN. I didn't exactly recreate the character, but seeing as I had nothing but a free hand to go by, I'm averagely pleased with the result. Now, I have no, and I mean none whatsoever, competance within the field of rigging. I tried one, failed, tried again, failed, tried a thrid time while reading the tutorial word by word... I guess it's not in my blood, not that modeling seems to be either, I just like to tinker with it. Anyways, here he is, Clayman: Raw, uncut and only good looking if you toon-render him. Everything is embedded, even though all the materials are CD-standard. PS! Yes, that round thing on top of him is his head and no he doesn't have a face, yet... He was just some tinker anyways, I just felt like I had to start off with something. Clayman_no_bones.prj

Looks like a funny penguin! Good start, but give the eyes a few extra patches (I'm guessing you lathe'd it?) or you'll get some odd artifacts when you look at the eyeball from the side.

That's one fierce-looking dragon! Don't let it loose or I believe it'll eat the entire community. Keep ut the great work!

Great work Mr. Sutton! It's an inspiration to see such great work.

http://www.kci-group.com/z/lightsaber.htm I love this one!

Wow, he's looking very good, you've made great progress. How long do you recon you'll spend on this model until it's done? If it's at all possible to guess
-
I could do some small- and medium-sized models, I have plenty of time to spare.

Whoa, that's so cool, I want one of those! Think I can get it in the local petstore? Now make it move! Cheers, Joakim

I just have another question: I've always liked your textures and I was just wondering how you've learned to create them? I know it isn't something you learn over night (I've tried and failed at doing so ), but are there any books you recommend or any specific approaches? I remember you made at least one tutorial about how to create a texture for larger metal-constructions and I learned quite a bit from it. Cheers, Joakim

WoW! Lookin' VERY good! It reminds me of my High Elves Dragon Lord(Warhammer) that has yet to be painted completely... Which reminds me of an old saying: an albino dragon is better than no dragon... as long as it's on your side. Cheers, Joakim

Loads of lumps he has, so plenty of displacement maps to be placed there are. *shakes his head* whoi, snapped out of it... I always get like that when I see Yoda. Good start! He getting a light sabre and everything? Or just a nude Yoda? Oh... oh the horror! Please swear you'll cover him up! And of course, may the force be with you. Cheers, Joakim

Hello dear Scandinavians, Due to my recent return as forum-warrior I thought it'd be fun to CPR this thread back to life, if possible, to see if any more Scandies have joined the forum (I bet there are a few, I only hope this thread can drag them out into the light). Also, I'd like to suggest a Oslo-get-together, sometime and somewhere where people can show off their stuff, exchange their ideas face to face and maybe make some "real life" friends/connections (not that it isn't possible to do so trough the forum). When and where will depend on how many, when it suits the attendants, etc. etc. Cheers, Joakim

I've been lurking about this thread for about a week now and I don't really have anything to say that hasn't been said, your work simply can't be described properly by my vocabulary. It's quite simply... indescribably beautiful. Maybe you should model Blucher next and make a flick about what happend to that one?
-
One thing I've missed the most about this forum is your threads... You always seem to pick great stuff to model and you always make it look good aswell. Here's to hoping the dragon-making has yet to come to an end! Btw, are you using bump-maps?

If he's 18... then where's his adam's apple? Right now, with the shortened hair, he looks more like a 14 year-old that has yet to hit puberty. I believe an adam's apple might fix that. Otherwise, I'd just like to say that you've made great progress since your initial take on the guy and the helmet looks great.

I just have to say this: Ho-ly crap! So few patches and splines, yet it looks like a billion-spline model on the render. Wow. Show us some more!
-
I've never laughed so hard because of snowmen... Make more, even if it takes you another 16 months!

Try using constraints, they're good when you want to lock things to... other things One way is to right-click on your movie(once you've uploaded it), choose properties and copy the link you find there here, that will create a direct link to the movie, instead of the entire page.

HAHA! I love it! My only crit is that every single elf has straight fingers, not a single one has a bent finger

Why... that's brilliant! A bit of a work-arround, but at least you got it done! /me starts playing with the magic cube. Ooo, shiny!

Bionicle Toa Images, and Lewa Q&A animation
Mr. Jaqe replied to Lewa11's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
BRAVO! A short worthy of much attention and applause! Very funny and wow, what great models and animation! Only 15, eyh? Damn... I hate it when people who're younger than me are better than me At least you're a whole lot better than me, so I won't have to worry about competittion. I'm looking forward to see more! -
It worked for me! I liked it, it was kinda... jumpy, in a good way. Prehaps a tad too colorfull(the balls) for my own taste, but I still found it very amuzing.
-
It looks very good, the animation itself is quite a piece of work and the idea is very good, however I have a few crits: 1. The glass moves very oddly in his hand, what are you using to lock it to the KeeKat's hand? 2. The "firefly", or whatever it is, jumps from one side of the board to another when he gets caught inside the glass, it's like you forgot 10-20 frames when he flies towards KeeKat, so he can catch it. 3. Use his left hand a bit more, maybe he'll use it to cover his face when the bright light comes? The bottom-line is: I'm quite impressed! Oh, that so reminds me of Gremlins, "bright...light..." Keep ut the good work

WOW! It looks great! The shadows, the movement, all that's missing is the small "click"-sounds it makes when you try'n solve it. I'm wondering about this meself. Please tell us, o' mighty magic cube-person!
