  1. Thats a kinda neat way to model, it would make figuring out the splines much easier. Great model by the way.
  2. Put the specularity pattern in the gradient material your using in both attributes and it should show(that's assuming your using a procedural texture for it).
  3. I was planning to make a short short. :) Something like a minute or two. I'm going to slow the animation down a bit zacktaich but I'll wait untill I get it all together.
  4. I like the idea of modeling from clay before I start too. I use platicine though because I like to change things as I go (can never make up my mind). :) As a matter of fact I have my revelutionary viel sitting on a pop bottle (I got the idea form another A:M user) right beside my computer as I speak! Nice hedgehog anyways, it looks very euopean.
  5. My mom came up with this crazy idea about a week ago and I've been having alot of fun with this animation! This is what I have so far... just imagine that your in a jungle. Your admiring the flowers and you hear something. You run over to the noise crouch down and you find this! :D The animation still needs alot of work but this is it so far:

    Cop

Well he'd defiantly need that stomach movin! :) Nice character.
  7. They look awsome! I was wondering how you did the cloth too.
  8. You should make a kiss animation with you charater chasing after Thom. :D
  9. I got the same problem, I think it started to happen after I installed v11 alpha.
  10. Thanks jim! I learned something aready(the copy pose mirror trick). :) I'm using win98 and it played fine too.
  11. The animation looks pretty good, I think you need to get the front flippers moving though.
  12. I like it so far. I think you should decrease the bump strength a little though on you material and increase it's scale.
  13. The only thing that looks a little off is when he says laughter.
  14. I'm not much of a programmer but I found a fairly cheap compiler called real basic that Dan Shimyo used to create that other light rig program called. It compiles in pc and mac formats and it can also import visual basic files and convert them to some extent. Here's the link: www.realbasic.com and this is the link for pricing: http://www.realsoftware.com/store/new_purchases.html
  15. It was just an idea. I wasn't too sure if it'd work because I didn't have the model to play with. At least it got you thinking!
  16. I changed my mind. See if this works..
  17. I was thinking about how you could smooth the mesh and I think I have it. You could take the chin spline and connect it to the nose spline creating a ring around the bottom part of the nose and around the mouth. I'm not too sure about this but I think it should help smooth it a bit.
  18. Just make a half sphere and have the bone that moves the second object in the exact center of that sphere and it should work.
  19. When doing somehting like this(eyes for example) you just have to make your main obeject spherical in the modeling mode and align the second object that you want to move so that it touches the surface. Then you add one main bone that controls everything, one bone that controls the half sphere and one child bone that controls the second object. Now all you have to do is make a pose and scale the main bone.
  20. This is the wire of my latest creature with a few modifications. Check out the way I did the wings and the legs.
  21. I think it's a good start so far. I the head should be modeled like it's a human head though(extruded from the eye's, ear and mouth). I'd also move the wings down one spline and connect them to each vertical spline on the body that lines up(you'll have to add one more on the body). I'd also reduce the number of splines for the tail using hooks but it's not really that important. For the legs I'd add 2 more vertical splines one on each side towards the front of the leg. I have included a picture(I just got a tablet so I had to find a excuse to play with it!!) that shows what I'd do with it but I'm sure there are other ways. A make drangon button would make things easier though.
  22. Flip the normals on the 5 pointers(f key).
  23. I wonder why very few people have commented on your work, it's great!
