  1. Vern, How about a little jiggle? From the bag of course. David
  2. My wifes birthday is the 20th so I have to be careful. But right now, I could accomodate you. I think Colin indicated he was free on the 12th. Otherwise I think Grand daughters win out. David
  3. I can do Feb 12th as far as my schedule sits today. Wade and Will, If you drive to exit 306 (Adarisville) on I75, I can drive the rest of the way to Atlanta. You can either leave your car at my house or one of the restaraunts at that exit. What time of day should the group meet in Atlanta? Looking forward to meeting you all. David
  4. Cleveland??? Shoot, I drive through there a couple of times a month (avoiding Chattanooga). Going back through there on Thursday afternoon (1-20-05). David
  5. Man I wish I had 1/8th of your tallent.
  6. I re-did it all in AM and am reasonably satisfied with the results. The aspect ratio needs to be tweaked and the water direction changes. I'll work on that. David dustin_moon0.mpg
  7. Is there a chance it's an AE thing? Here's a screen shot using a viewer to look at the frames. The flames look full. David (I use TMPGenc to preview frames)
  8. John, Yes I rendered it with an alpha channel. The particles seem to show up in individual images. What I notice is the coloring is off in AE. Perhaps I can adjust it there. I'm re-rendering the flames and text right now with about twice the amount of particles. We'll see how that works out. Thanks, David
  9. Here is an image of the comparison between AE (Adobe After Effects) and images rendered out of AM (render farm). I'm trying to work out an issue. David
  10. Thanks for all your comments! The flavor of the site is intended to be a little more far reaching than just industrial. There are tabs for Forensic/legal and product sales etc. This page is actually in about 2 levels, so it's not the first one they'll see (even though that's what the title was). The site will have a flash half with mainly information, and an HTML half that will house most of the animations. I also plan on using this interface on a business card CD. As far as it being wide and not very tall... I took a screen shot and cropped down the superfluous territory. I'll have to think about the colors. Thanks again for all the constructive criticism, I really appreciate it. David
  11. Here's a screen shot of my new website. Let me know what you think good, bad and the ugly. David EDIT: Note, the new site isn't up yet. I'm building it off line for now, and my head hurts.
  12. John, Seriously, I could see your clip in the "Behind the Music" Series on VH1. David
  13. Stian, Excellent work. You have truely mastered mechanical modeling very quickly. David
  14. John, Excellent doesn't even come close to saying how great it is. WOW (I can even say it backwards WOW). You really should contact the real band and see if they want it on their web site. How did you do the watermark/logo in the right corner? David
  15. I kept getting the page cannot be found thing. David
  16. Daniel, Are you rendering all that without a render farm??? Looks great (I turn on light switches with the back of my hand too). David
  17. It works good for creating quick vehicles as well. David
  18. Here is the latest. The terrain is plain (or is it the rain in Spain?), but it'll do for now. The moon glows, the flames are just about what I wanted. I'll let it gell in my head for a couple of days, then revisit it. David dustg1024x768_to_352x240.m1v
  19. The longer I work on it, the less I like it. I think it needs more flames, some texture on the ground, and loose the blue area. There's something un-natural about the way it fly's in. Other than that I think it's great (not) David dustin1_4_05_small.m1v
  20. Yes the moon was accidently receeding --- fixed that. Stopped rendering it as the reflectivity setting I had on the sand was causing more strange flickering. I REALLY like using sprites. Very cool, don't know why I've avoided them. David
  21. Yes I'm using particle sprites. Here's another version of it. The flames will decrease as the object gets closer. Supposed to look kind of like it is burning up in the atmosphere. Need to remember not to use anything with reflections, as it really taxes the renderers. David dustterrain2.m1v
  22. Here's an experiment using flaming particles. this is as far as it's rendered. Taking about 45 minutes per frame. Need to make a few other changes. David terrain_dpllc.m1v
