reddynamite Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 This question may have been answered already, but to save time in searching for it...are there any plans on making TSM2 for the Mac on OSX? Quote
anzovin Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Yes, there will be an OSX version...Morgan is taking a break for the next few weeks, but that is on the agenda for when she returns. Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
robinsn Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 What kind of time frame does that make before we can actually buy/use it? Quote
reddynamite Posted November 27, 2004 Author Posted November 27, 2004 Thanks for the reply, Steve. One more question, since I already own the prior version of TSM, is this a free upgrade? thx- -N Quote
luckbat Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 What kind of time frame does that make before we can actually buy/use it? Development won't start until January, so it'll be a while. since I already own the prior version of TSM, is this a free upgrade? No, the upgrade costs $70, or possibly $60 depending on how long the sale price lasts. http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/setupmachine10.html Quote
jesshmusic Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Maybe by the time it comes out for OS X, I'll have the money to buy it! I gues that means I'll have to re-rig all of my characters.... Maybe I'll get it for my next production! Quote
luckbat Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Just thought I'd bump this one up. Do the Anzovins have a timeframe for TSM2/MacOS at this stage? Not to sound overly pushy, but I'm putting the finishing touches on a new model that I'll be needing to rig shortly. If TSM2 will be available in, say, four to six weeks, I'll wait. If it's more like three to four months, I'll go ahead and use TSM1. Any thoughts? Spring? Summer? Even a ballpark timeframe would be appreciated! Thanks... Quote
anzovin Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 We are using Hash's in-house Win > OSX plug-in converter to generate new code for TSM2 OSX. So we are waiting on Hash folks to get to this--they've been busy with shows and such, and there are always snags in any code conversion process as well. We're working through these problems, and assuming they are solved, the likelihood is that we will have a version in 4-6 weeks. That's our plan, anyway. Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
luckbat Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 That's great news. Thanks for the response! Quote
reddynamite Posted January 22, 2005 Author Posted January 22, 2005 very cool, I'm crossing my fingers...thanks for the response Steve, and thanks luckbat for bumping this thread back up! wrd - -N Quote
luckbat Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Okay, time to bump this one up again. How's that MacOS port coming along? I nag because I love! Quote
Raf Anzovin Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Waiting on some issues with Hash....but progress is being made. Steve Sappington is being very helpful! It's at the top of our list. Steve (Anzovin) Anzovin Studio Quote
reddynamite Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 Just checking in to see the status of this. I'm itching to use TSM2 on my G5. Any word yet as to a guesstimated release date? Let us mac users know when you can... thx- -Noah Quote
anzovin Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Progress is being made! I know it is taking forever, but we are working closely with Hash to make this happen. --Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
reddynamite Posted March 22, 2005 Author Posted March 22, 2005 Any status yet on this? Cheers, Noah Quote
Morgan Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Currently, TSM2 is being sent back and forth between me and Steve Sappington, who is generously helping me prep it to run through Hash's proprietary Mac-compiler-for-Windows-programs. (Don't ask me how that works -- I suspect it may be black magic. ) However, I can't really guesstimate a release date. Honestly, it's likely to go from "Well, we're working on it" to "Hey look, it works!" without any intermediate step of "We'll have it done in [x] more weeks." -Morgan Quote
reddynamite Posted March 30, 2005 Author Posted March 30, 2005 Thanks for the status Morgan. I will continue to eagerly await....sigh...... Cheers, Noah Quote
anzovin Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Bummer announcement: TSM2 for OSX is being delayed indefinitely. We won't say why precisely, but it's not our fault! Anyway, Morgan's looking into alternative approaches... we still want to do it. Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
luckbat Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 That is indeed a bummer, though I must admit I sort of gave up waiting for it a while ago. What can you recommend for us lowly Mac users? Buying a PC just to run TSM-2 seems a bit extreme. Quote
Stuart Rogers Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Buying a PC just to run TSM-2 seems a bit extreme. As is installing Virtual PC. This is really sad news - I was looking forward to TSM2. Quote
Sevenar Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 You know, it doesn't take a state-of-the-art PC to run TSM2. If you really wanted it, you could probably find a Pentium 3 machine on eBay for under a hundred bucks. Just a thought. Quote
Stuart Rogers Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 You know, it doesn't take a state-of-the-art PC to run TSM2. If you really wanted it, you could probably find a Pentium 3 machine on eBay for under a hundred bucks. True, but isn't TSM2 a plug-in now, rather than stand-alone? So the PC has to be able to run A:M too. My spare PC won't go higher than Win98 without modification, so it probably won't run any recent A:M, which is no fun. I was hoping to throw the bloody thing away, not enhance it! Add to this the inconvenience of transferring project files back and forth. (I'm not suggesting your suggestion is invalid, though!) Quote
Guest jandals Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Couldn't TSM 2 for OS X be released as a standalone app like version 1 is now? Quote
anzovin Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Couldn't TSM 2 for OS X be released as a standalone app like version 1 is now? Just the possibility we are looking at now--actually, a hybrid approach is what Morgan is suggesting as the way to go. It will take a little more work to do this, but we'll keep you posted. --Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
Guest jandals Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Thanks Steve. I haven't found another rig I like as much as TSM so it'd be a bummer to miss out. I hope you find a good solution. Rhett Quote
GusM Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Any news? You have a lot of Mac users desperatly waitting Though I know you do your best... Best regards, Gustavo Muñoz Quote
heyvern Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I haven't commented on this issue although it was disappointing to hear about the troubles. I would like to add that I would be absolutely fine and dandy with a completely external separate application for TSM. If the choice is a built in plugin or an external file processor... no problems. It would be a shame to lose this tool on the Mac if that is the main hold up. Vernon "!" Zehr Quote
luckbat Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Hey, no problem! Macs run on Intel chips now, so we should be good to go. Quote
anzovin Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Any news, please...? T.I.A Gustavo Muñoz Not yet....I hope to have something to say soon. --Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
Admin Rodney Posted June 21, 2005 Admin Posted June 21, 2005 Just for the curious... I don't own a Mac so it isn't for me... Is the previous version of TSM still available for the Mac? Quote
anzovin Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Yes, TSM1 for Mac is still around, and would run fine in Classic for any Mac OSX user. http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/tsforma.html HOWEVER, I am now hearing positive noises about TSM2 for OSX--it might not be long now--make the sign for luck appropriate to your culture. --Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
Guest jandals Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Thanks for the update, Steve. In my part of the world we bring ourselves luck with uncomfortable finger gestures. But we all need fingers for typing now so maybe I'll just do an anticipatory Jig of Celebration. Looking forward to the update, Rhett Quote
Will_S Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 HOWEVER, I am now hearing positive noises about TSM2 for OSX--it might not be long now--make the sign for luck appropriate to your culture. Oh goody! I have been looking forward to this for while since I'm currently using AM v10.5 and am tired of gazing longingly at v.11 and v12. I'm with Vern, stand alone or integrated, I'll be a happy camper when TSM 2 for Mac arrives. Alrighty, better let my fingers join the crossing marathon my toes have already begun. Quote
anzovin Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Oh goody! I have been looking forward to this for while since I'm currently using AM v10.5 and am tired of gazing longingly at v.11 and v12. To clarify: TSM2 for OSX will still need to be used with Mac versions of AM later than v10.5.... Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
