Dagooos
A new character I modeled yesterday. I was looking to make a simple low patch count bird that would be easy to squash and stretch. This is a little test I made to check out the rig (small download 930kb) http://www.5000hp.com/animations/bird.mov Thanks David
entity
OH!! GAWD!!! It's hilarious! I like it. It would definitely be something you would see on a childrens' show.
jamagica
This is a great character! Nice hair...looks very natural. Are you trying to make this bird look "grown up"? If so, add more hair. Right now it looks like a "kid" bird
Admin Rodney Posted November 4, 2004 Admin Share Posted November 4, 2004 (edited) Nice "take" too. The exageration works perfectly. If you are looking for critiques... I'll add: Say something with the eyes. Have him look left and right... and/or have his pupils pinpoint just prior to the "take". Very nice as it stands though! For those interested, I updated the part of The 'annotated' Art of Animation:Master dealing with eyes from page 63 and 64 of TAOA:M. It can be found HERE. There is a lot more going on with eyes before, during, and after a movement. The study of eyes is a facinating one that we'll try to capture elements of in the 'annotated'. dborruso
That bird is adorable. Too bad he didn't hatch before the mascot competition. Nice work.
hypnomike
Nice bird, I love the squash and stretch effect. You've handled that very well.
Atomike
I love it. Very cute. The only thing I would change is inside the mouth. When he opens his beak, you can see hair inside. I can't wait until I can do things like this.

Dagooos
Thanks for the comments guys I made another pass on the animation mostly worked on the eyes and cleaned up the animation a little, then added a little sound to spice it up As soon as I clean up the groups and adjust the rig a little, I will give everyone the bird http://www.5000hp.com/animations/bird.mov
