Here's the first pass of the first half of my troll short. It's small and compressed and dark and there are lots of planned improvements as a result of seeing it but you'll get an idea. :)

That's quite good! Nice set too. And the off camera explosion works well also.

He does have a bit of Harryhausen in him, maybe cause there's no motion blur? Looks cool!

Hey Ken,

Great work! I love your character!

I agree with Robcat. I think the off screen explosion is great. Very convincing and looks good.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more....

Thanks! :)

I thought there was abit of a stop motion look, but would never compare my work to the great mans....only that it's a monster that's being animated. Also, it's probably enforced by some "stuttering" when he turns round. I could fix it with a few keyframe changes, but I'm almost loath to as I like that look...brings back memories. :)

The explosion does add to it and it's one of the things I'm going to fix. It dies out too fast for my liking. It also puts nice highlighting on the troll. He'll be in the lights more in the second half.

Hi Kenh!

Nice work!

Keep it up! Keep it up!

I'm waiting the second half, because I would like to see more from your model!

Cheers,

Sharky ;)

Looks good Ken! :D

It seems smooth enough to me, have you already improved it?

If you're loath to make changes you could always save as a separate version and compare the two outputs.

Look forward to seeing the complete version.

Cheers. :D
