jakerupert
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php...9&t=1163559 Not specifically for AM but quite interesting nevertheless...
Admin Rodney Posted March 16, 2014 Admin Share Posted March 16, 2014 I had forgotten they were developing this in python. Hmmm... mui intersante. I see from their online flyer: No triangles. Quads only. I'm thinking that is a very good thing.
Vertexspline
Its definitely a good thing. The models that come out of it ,at least in obj form, are rather nice indeed. And there are a whole range of parameters you could can play with as to gender, shape, race etc etc . And hey--its free .
higginsdj
But they are still polygons and any importing into AM has the usual problem with spline density. Reduce the poly count too much and you loose all the detail very quickly..... Cheers David
Vertexspline
Yes , true David, but I think they can be great models for retopology in AM.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 18, 2014 Hash Fellow Share Posted March 18, 2014 That thing puts bones in the model too, right? How do polygon models store that? And how do they associate the CPs with the bones? If you knew that you could make a converter to bring in the whole rig and not just the mesh. You could probably do that with a spreadsheet.
