totlover Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Over the next two months or so i am going to be creating objects to be used in a game online. All of the objects are going to be objects from times of empires and kings times. I will say now that i do not play this game but a few of my friends do. Which is who helped me get this project. So now i am going to be making objects and showing you guys my progress. The game is called War of Empires... and you can check it out here if you would like to. None of the artwork on this site is mine though. Im not sure where my work will go if its used. The work will be created from a certain angle of each of the models so none of the shots are final. but my first models to show are. a war tent. then there are barracks. Quote
KenH Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Interesting! Are you saving the models as objs? What engine is being used? Quote
Fuchur Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Interesting! Are you saving the models as objs? What engine is being used? I think he doesnt have to, if it is a game like earth of empire, etc. Than the images will be enough. *Fuchur* Quote
jzawacki Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Yup, usually those types of games are 2D.. Looks good to me. I can't wait to see what you do for characters and how they turn out. Quote

jzawacki Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 but i just thought it would be cooler if done in 3d. Not only that, but when it comes to animating them, it will be super easy as well. Like, the shack you just made.. when you need to create a burning version of it.. Quote
Masna Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Hey man, looking good! Who's doing the coding for the game? Quote
totlover Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 Hey man, looking good! Who's doing the coding for the game? its just an online game where basically all it is i am making is pictures. its a "text-game" as i would call it. just upgrading and attacking people. but no actual game play or nothing. im not sure what to call that. so i am just making things to make pictures. which will basically just be used as 2d. because no 3d part of it is used. just the image of it. Masna Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Oh, I see... Almost like Tribal Wars? http://tribalwars.net/ Quote
totlover Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 Yeah you got it Masna. that is actually what we are kinda basing our idea off of. just the idea of showing the town and what not. my friends play that game. p.s. I will have new model picture up later tonight. Quote
Turk Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 The game is called War of Empires, and yes its like tribal wars but everything is instant. Anyways we're (mostly caleb) making the buildings for an ariel veiw for your town, which is going to be an image map. Its really easy actually, i look up pictures and examples of what the guy who made the game wants, and caleb does all the work. Quote
Masna Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Oh, cool! It sounds like you guys have a good system. I wish my game productions were as organized. Who did the design for the website? It looks very professional. Quote
Turk Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Neither of us lol. We are just working for the guy who actually created the game. In the forums he goes by the name of Bhaal but i dont know him by any other name but that. And he did the whole website, even though he did get some help with coding for the game itself from a few others. Its coded in java if you are wondering. Quote
Masna Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Oh, cool! Java coding was never one of my strong suits... Good luck with the rest of the buildings. Looking great so far! Quote
totlover Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 Well. Its been a while since i have posted in here. And that is because of other things i've been up to. My bad memory and things like that. Well i am about to go full blast on this thing cause there is money involved now But thats not only reason. i really love doin this stuff and would do it for free. so yeah i have an update on the barracks. I like the render i am using better then i did before as well. It looks snazzier. Quote
Jaff Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 You models look very nice , well done, It seems you have a good project here.... Quote
totlover Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 Well.. I know yall are used to me not finishing things. Its a bad habit of mine. But this project will be completed. My friend that is the "Middle Man" that i count on got his internet taken up because his dad turns off his internet at like 10:00 and he still needed it so he began hacking and hacked into the router and his dad found out after a while. And i wont be able to work on it until he gets it back. And who knows when that will be. So yeah this is not a forgot project. i actually miss workin on it Quote
totlover Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 well .. this project still coming along slow. havent heard from the main guy in charge. but me and my friend are going to try and start a site. we wanting to all things involving graphics.. games, 3d art, 2d art, animations, etc. no main focus as of right now. but we are calling ourselves Luova Productions. and i made a simple intro animation i thought would fit into this WIP. http://s379.photobucket.com/albums/oo236/t...nt=Test12-1.flv p.s. i do not do sound effects. :/ Quote
