animated gif

i was wondering if AM has the ability to save a small animation as a animated gif or a item of the same relevance

A:M doesn' t make animated gifs.

 

However there are many apps out there (search the web) that make animted gifs from files you imported from another app.

 

Typically you would render to QT or a targa series and the other app would use that to make the gif.

I would love to find a good free program that could do this.

 

If you find anything please post it as i really want to make animatied gifs.!!!

 

Is there a plugin anywere? - Could someone with good programing skills make one?

You can also use VirtualDub, it's free and has a ton of plugins and can export to .gif format. Here is an example of a video I converted to a "cartoon" and then exported to .gif:

I have image ready but how do i export as a .gif because when i do i get loads of separate files in .gif format and not all in one.

In image ready you have to create an animation. You need to open the time line palette. Put all the images on separate layers.

I did that but when I import the frames as an animation it put the frames in a strange order see screen shot below:

 

 

When I rearranged them it still didn't refresh the animation. Why is this?

try creating a new animations based ont he revised layers

layers and frames aren't directly related. in each frame, the layers can move and or be hidden.
