Mikal Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Pretty much what the topic says, I'm trying to export my model I made in Animation Master into Maya, so how do I do that? Quote
KenH Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Right click on the model> plugins>export>obj That will save the model as an obj format model. Quote
Mikal Posted January 30, 2008 Author Posted January 30, 2008 Right click on the model> plugins>export>obj That will save the model as an obj format model. I only get 3 options: PLY, 3DS, AV2. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 30, 2008 Admin Posted January 30, 2008 I only get 3 options: PLY, 3DS, AV2. What version of A:M are you using? I ask as in earlier versions you had to track down the plugins and install them separately. Quote

UNGLAUBLICHUSA Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 If I may be so bold...why do you want to? Spline hogs like Maya cannot to my knowledge handle the efficient 'low count' spline meshes of HASH models in an animation like AM can. Quote

Spline hogs like Maya cannot to my knowledge handle the efficient 'low count' spline meshes of HASH models in an animation like AM can. It was just a thought. I kind of am exploring both programs, I really like Hash though. It's much easier for me to handle, Maya is just, whoa way hard. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 9, 2008 Hash Fellow Posted March 9, 2008 is there a way to do it vice-versa? An OBJ derived from a well-made "Sub-D" model can have promise for importing to A:M. Typically, a lot of thinning out of unnecessary splines is needed and some resplining to substitute 5-pointers where 5-edge intersections were happening. I've done it once; it was a lot of work; but it was less work than merely using the imported OBJ as a reference and remodeling from scratch. Quote
Dhar Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Just to clarify; would that be the Autodesk QUAD DXF import/export plugin for Maya? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 9, 2008 Hash Fellow Posted March 9, 2008 I don't know how the model was exported to OBJ, although there is an OBJ export plugin for maya. I just know I got the model in OBJ. Quote
FlyingMonkieBoy Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 i have no idea how to do this....i just found a model that i really liked but it was for maya.... Quote
