Not the Christmas Contest

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is just my almost ran image thread.

Well, the pressure is off. I missed the deadline for the contest but as I had a couple of festive images on the boil I am going to post them here anyway.

This image was a mock up of what I was going for with my first image. It is all A:M, (11.1 and 12), but is a composite on three layers. When I finish working on the second image I will get back to this one, finishing the sleigh, better poses for the figures, get the hair flowing and add a proper snow storm with some moody lighting... I hope.

Here is another composite. Just testing:

The second image,( not shown yet), is my prefered concept and I will attempt to finish it. In the meantime this is the main character from the image, who is being textured at the moment. I haven't rigged him yet either.

More later... :)

John, Rodney and Robert, thank you! :)

Well, I wouldn't call them wonderful models but they are gradually getting closer to being useable.

I'm glad Santa got rid of the reindeer. I understand they were terrible greenhouse gas emitters.

Ha, ha!

I'm sorry to disappoint you, Robert, but ... we've got reindeer too:

However these reindeer have been fitted with Santa's secret methane converters, which magically turn methane into helium. How else could a reindeer fly. ;)

These guys are going for a shave and an antler remodelling before Christmas eve.

Hi Paul,

It's all just wonderful, Santa looks great, the reindeer is cool, and the village/hamlet is just as one imagines it. The whole christmas-winter thing is a very strong image. Even living in the southern hemisphere one identifies snow with christmas. I remember one winter (July/August) when it was snowing outside, my son (3 years old at the time) looked out and said 'Father Christmas (Santa) is coming!'.

Thanks for sharing

Steve
