Ravager
i've got the model done, yet i'm wondering, anything she still needs? (textures, body improvement, exe.) [attachmentid=20524]
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 14, 2006 Hash Fellow Share Posted September 14, 2006 Some textures to make her look more... insectoid? Not sure what to suggest. I recall she had lots of slime. Probably hard to do in CG. You'd probably get more feedback in the WIP forum.
trajcedrv
I am by no means alien expert, so I cannot comment on accuracy of the model... Looks pretty good to me, but as always, aliens work best in the dark, and they sould be more felt than seen... ;-) However, queen absolutely needs some bones and beauty pose to be appreciated in its gory loveliness... entity
It depends on how complex you are willing to go with the textures, but I would rig it before texturing just in case you need to change, add, or delete any patches. Also, it all depends on what your style is... did you do a sketch first or are you modeling from photos?

Also, it all depends on what your style is... did you do a sketch first or are you modeling from photos? to be honest, i really just looked at my alien queen toy, and used parts from my other alien models, i'll show the resembelence between them. the warrior, drone, and runner are all the same model, except for a color change.(i only used colors because i'm no good with textures, even if i had them)if you want, i'll show you the other alien models. drone [attachmentid=20544] runner [attachmentid=20545] warrior [attachmentid=20546] praetorian [attachmentid=20547] carrier [attachmentid=20548] ravager [attachmentid=20549] please tell me about these dudes too, and let me know if you want a zoom in any specific locations. Nunsofamerica
i am no alien expert either, but, I think that you should put a few scratches, and stuff on him, to make him look like he has been in fights or something. and more scaley skin. unless you want him like the metal kind
jon
i am an alien expert, having watched the first two movies 'till my eyes bled. ' ' ) the worker/drone featured prominently in the first two movies were tall, skinny guys in costume, so you might consider making the lower body more structurally human. i like all the varieties you've developed! -jon
Dhar
Nice going. For inspiration, I thought you might be interested in what Emile Ghorayeb (character animator at PDI DreamWorks who worked on Madascar among other) did with his Alien queen - at the end of this demo reel: http://www.emiliog.com/images/myanim.mov
Ravager
i loved the alien at the end, very fluent and detailed (which i hope my models to be someday if not now) and after a long time i finally got my vids to work, thanks to all of those who helped me out , so i did a test on my drone model, to see if it really worked..... please tell me what you think. i also took the idea of doing it in a dark scene, seems more alien-like. Ravager
3,2,1 done! i got my predalien done, and it also has "dreadlocks" of a pred... the way they were arranged was by the inspiration of the other predalien models in the Aliens versus Predator games. the mouth is also fully animateable.
