ragtag Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 Hi, Here's a little old film from 2000, for those of you that haven't seen it. http://www.ragtag.net/films/movies/flowerHi.mov (1.9mb QT-Sorensen). Ragnar Quote
HeadlessBill Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I'm curious to know how you created the look. Quote
Parlo Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I find the armless-floating-hands fascinating - they remain 'readable' almost all the time. Nice styling all round methinks. Quote
ragtag Posted September 22, 2003 Author Posted September 22, 2003 I planned it originally as a 2D animation, and had drawn the characters real simple so they would be easy to animate. Then I sat down with AM for a day, and before I knew it I had modeled the characters (there were a couple more in the original story). The look is just straight toon render, with white materials on everything. It's rendered straight out of AM (7.1 if I remember correctly) in one pass with no post effects. The models are extremely simple, which I think helps with getting clear toon lines. Ragnar Quote
sanehatter Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 That is really nice, both in look and humor. I also really dig the disembodied hands. Quote
c-wheeler Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 I realy like the effect-sort of early style animation Quote
ZachBG Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 Hi, Here's a little old film from 2000, for those of you that haven't seen it. http://www.ragtag.net/films/movies/flowerHi.mov (1.9mb QT-Sorensen). That was frippin' fantastic. I don't know if it's a goal to which you aspire, but I wouldn't have been able to tell it was rendered by a computer. Nice work. Quote
smudge Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 heh heh... The toon look worked very nice in this piece. It'd be interesting to see other things in this style. Quote
no0ne Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 always waited for some episode2 of this fantastic little short great style & fun story Quote
mborok Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 That was great. Have any of you tried Moho from lostmarble.com? It's like a 2D version of Hash. First thing I thought of when I saw this piece. Quote
xor Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 If I have one complaint about your animation, it's that I can't find one (a complaint that is). It's smooth, fluid, uncluttered and inspiring. Keep up the good work and we all hope to see more. Quote
starwarsguy Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 lol for a second the white and black smooth lines made it look like a flash film Quote
