Viper GTX2.0
I have designed this lightsaber. Feel free to give me any comments, but the blade did not turn out good so i did not add that in.
Chrury Sanson
Lookin pretty sweet! The design is very well done. All it need now is some good materials/textures to spiff it up. And, just my opinion, the blade hole looks like it should be a bit deeper. Thumbs up!
Dark_Jedi
deeper and the whole should be bigger... honestly id pic a dif colouring.. but yours looks good
cuboos
i know two way to make a realistic lightsaber blade the esiest way is to do it lath a long cylinder and lath a dome for the top then group the whole blade and set the diffuse to whit the ambience intensity to 100 the ambience color to whet ever color you want the blade to be then set the specularity color to white and then set the size and intensity to 100 and turn on glow and you should have a good looking blade

Dark_Jedi
i know two way to make a realistic lightsaber blade the esiest way is to do it lath a long cylinder and lath a dome for the top then group the whole blade and set the diffuse to whit the ambience intensity to 100 the ambience color to whet ever color you want the blade to be then set the specularity color to white and then set the size and intensity to 100 and turn on glow and you should have a good looking blade the only problem with that is it ONLY looks good behind a black background.and other colour background changes the colour and makes it look like a white glow

bentothemax
Hey, Nice lightsaber : D A way to maybe fix your blade problems is use the material i have included here, on just a lightsaber blade sized cylinder. Ben light_saber_mat.zip

MattWBradbury
You need to find a way to get the saturation up on the glow. The red on the Lightsaber in the last shot looked almost light pink. Try adjusting the Glow Intensity variable in the Choreography properties.
Dark_Jedi
the intensity just makes the glow larger
MattWBradbury
Larger? Or Better?
Dark_Jedi
worse actually. it just gets bigger and brighter.. i need it to get to be a darker colour
DanCBradbury
Why not create an inner and outer layer for the sabers? The inner layer would be pure white with a 100% abience intensity. The outer layer would be 100% transparent, 100% ambience intensity, the color of the saber glow, and have a density. This is what it should look like. [attachmentid=17705] The only problem is that when the saber is pointing at the camera or near to it, the inner layer begins to fade due to the density. Dark_Jedi
the problem with that is from a side view... it looks gread .. but when you go more of an angle it looks worse... and the closer you got to top.. worse it gets
