cuboos Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 i made this little GIF. just for the fun of it and decided to post it here [attachmentid=16220] what do you think? Quote
Stuart Rogers Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 I have to squint a bit to see it as anything other than a rotating distorted vase (which it is). But it does suggest an interesting development. Don't spin the vase but rig it so that the 'faces' on each side can be fully animated as true faces, with a conversation sound track. If I can find a suitable sound track, I might just steal that idea! Quote
steve392 Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 ahhhh I can't see any faces ,must be my eyes lol Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 i see the faces but the vase makes it hard to focus on them lol Quote
Dhar Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 I see the faces. Each one seems to say "yeeaaoo" as the vase turns Quote
thumperness Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Could also be a fast burping contest. I see, also, a take off of one of those music boxes. Instead of only one 'bump' on the spinning vase, make several different 'bumps' so when it spins, it will move the mouths through a series of mouth shapes for music or speech. Spinning at a slower speed may help this. Interesting. Quote
Leo73 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I agree with Dennis; I dont see anything but the spinning shape. Maybe I am tired or something. Quote
Dhar Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I agree with Dennis; I dont see anything but the spinning shape. Maybe I am tired or something. This is an old negative space / positive space demonstration in art 101. It looks better in 2D. 3D seems to take the illusion away a bit. Quote
jon Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 dood. yer blowing my mind. ... also, try lowering the contrast (higher ambiance, more direct lighting) to come closer to the more effective 2d source of the trick. -jon Quote
Joe Gamblin Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I think it's a breakdancing chess piece Quote
