Hey fellow game makers.

Just wanted to let you know our fist video game using AM "Bibleman: A Fight for Faith" has officially shipped, and will be on store shelves (Christian book stores at first) after the 20th. It is also available for pre-ordering on the web at www.bibleman.com.

Our initial order was 8,000 units, but we're expecting waaaaaaaay more than that in no time. We're trying to get into Wal-Mart (see the thread in the OT section), and offering basically a reward for anyone who can get us in front of one of the big wigs, a buyer, or a regional manager.

So, I guess that's it. I thought things would slow down a bit, but we're in sales/marketing mode, as well as working on a ride film, and doing pre-production on our next game.

Whew!

Congratulations!

I was veeery late to be your beta - tester (it seems to me that I always miss those opportunities), although I would like to - well... maybe next time... but!

I would ask you (and this may seem as a stupid request) to put some screenshots here (if possible)

Once again, congratulations, I hope that it will sell well!

Good Lord! I hope you don't get into Walmart. It would be a shame to see cases of BibleMan burst into flame as they cross the threshhold!

I'm kidding!

Thats great news. Go and get 'em.

Thanks guys.

Drv: next time!

Bill: Thanks for the chuckle. If we could get into the Bible belt stores we should be safe..

And thanks everyone for your support. I'll try and get some screenshots up this weekend (gotta fix things around the house now. A lot of stuff got ignored or fell by the wayside while working on the game and doing the day job).

And to be honest, we could have never had such an awesome game/product without the help of a lot of very talented and really cool people here in Hashville (you know who you are. For those that did help, send me your address again and I'll send you a copy of the game).

Nice work guys!

Greg

edit: and let's not forget the Big Guy upstairs who brought us all together!

Congratulations, Greg! Wishing you every success with this. :)

So how long did the game take from concept to final wrap?

About 8 months, but that's only because we already had a story to go off of, and all the cut scenes are from the video that the game is based on. The first few months were part time, with the rest pretty much full time (with normal hours, aside from working a day job), and the last two months (well, end of July and then all of August) being a lot of very long hours for me, the programmer and level developer/scripter.

Thanks.

Yeah, it really hasn't quite sunken in yet. Been too busy marketing, and working on the ride film as well as pre-production on our next game.

And worrying about tech support and all the bazillions of Windows configurations...

Yeah, that should be fun.
