  1. I've had the program over a year now and decided it was finally time to start making films. So, my first one is Hero: Legend of the West. It has a three page script with only two people who speak in it. Well, there are like two incidentals, but they don't count. Now I haven't modeled everything myself, the horse for example is from the CD, so I have to remodel the saddle to a more western style saddle. But, Hero is the very first character I've ever modeled, so be easy on critiquing him. I'm quite proud that I was finally able to build a character, but there are a lot of faults in the model that luckily get covered up by the toon render!! BTW, the pics aren't in chronological order
  2. follow through in the physics is a must. Details such as the cape make such a difference. Movements are to jerky and sharp, rather than flowing and organic. A good start though!
  3. Hey, can you post a widescreen version for us widescreeners out there?
  4. Well, the model appears good, and the lipsynch worked well. His entrance seemed quite believably, but I agree with the others, some of the movements later on where a bit sharp and un-organic. But for the most part, welll done!
  5. Looking good, can't wait to see the whole production!! (The comic and whatever else you do to it!)
  6. It's absolutely incredible. Can I give it 100 stars?
  7. That's not a final render, is it? And to answer your question, it was ready for cgtalk when it was just a leg! Oh, BTW, how do you render a wireframe view?
  8. Job Ad: Do you have the qualifications to be a 3d animator - YES Are you the best damned modeller with AM - YES Then we want you!!! Thst's perfect, and if you enter that into the mascot contest, I will buy the upgrade just because of your iron man (If he wins which he probably would!)
  9. Everyone is standing around and suddenly here this strange tinkling noise, like liquid dropping, they all look down at darkwing and go "Aw man, did you really have to do that?" and I go, hell ya, that model was worth it!!!
  10. Um, ust one question, it always seems, spotty to me. Are you using multi-pass? Or is it meant to be that way?
  11. It's like it's talking. Try lip synching that!
  12. Here's a model I'm working on to attack the enterprise and for more fx testing. Edit- Here's a face off in production.
  13. Sorry to be cheap, but I had to say free. If you can find a good tutorial on modelling for photorealistic people for free, than you shouldn't have to pay on a car. I think that all tutorials should be free, not every one has money to spend on tutorials, especially if they just spent their money on a 3d program., or in my case, a new computer! (Don't worry, I bought mine a year ago, so I'm not in the hole)
  14. Darksim!!!!! The coolest planet materials are in the darksim materials!! They don't take all that much longer to render either, unless your doing a huge project.
  15. Well, I'm not done yet, this is just the beginning steps. And I have no idea when I'll be done. Probably once I feel that I sm either A.) content with what I've created or B.) when I feel A:M can do no more. But your right, it probably isn't A:M's limit, I hae no idea what it is, I just want to create some really cool FX. I think what got me going was that I was reading Dave Rogers book, and he said A:M isn't really all that much of a special effects program, so I guess I want to prove at least to myself that A:M is just as capable a FX program as it is a modelling program.
  16. I'm working on that now. It'll probably be done in a few days. Edit- Here's a one second long clip. I won't post anymore animated clips until I'm done because it takes a VERY long time to render! Damage_Sequence1.mov
  17. Here's a new shot. I'm beginnig to quite like this!
  18. Well, I've determined I'm not the greatest modeller, but, I'm getting quite good at SFX. Seeing as I haven't really seen anybody work with putting everything together into a SFX reel, I am. Eventually, there will be a fully animated SFX reel, but at the moment all I have is a WIP still image. So, here it is!
  19. I hope nobody sees this in real life. That's usaully the sign of failing eyes! Very good, as usaul.
  20. One question, where do you come up with these ideas. Do you just sit down and say "hm, I think i'lll work with displacement today" or do you just open the program, open a new material and and just fiddle with it untill it looks cool?
  21. I say the racing car. It looks like it would have the basics of car modeling, and then a little bit extra for those who wish to "customize".
  22. What type of ship is that? It looks familiar to me. It looks like a cross between a dauntless and a prometheus class. I'm just curious. Tbings are looking good for jumpinf right into it. I did the airplane model, then i jumped into the bigger models. My first was an enterprise 1701. Like other people here have said, the splinage is very important, and the cleaner the splines, the better the model!
  23. Well, I know that I'm going to use that in my upcoming project!!! Superb effect!!
