  1. course he already did santa once, not to say you can't use him again,
  2. hmmm, you're right about the payoff, that seems a little too....cheesy? it doesn't fit, hmmmm..... i'll have to think on that a little, i'll post if i get any ideas!
  3. well, i have determination-ish, but i lack simple spline layout, mine are always warpy and bubbly and are just weird
  4. my i borrow and never return your talent please?
  5. ah yes, lifted, that was a pretty good one
  6. that's pretty good, you should see if you can send that to them!
  7. i noticed that too, and i believe it was my brush was too wide in photoshop, so i'll be going over those textures again. i've been having some difficulty because i couldn't find terrific rotoscopes of the ship, and i'm technically using rotoscopes of the 1701 and any die hard trekkie knows there's subtle differences in the design of the 1701 and the 1701-A (for instance the phaser grid on the bottom of the secondary hull is different on the two ships). But too compensate for my bad rotoscopes, I have an actual model of the 1701-A that I have been using as reference and it was tremendous help with the nacelles
  8. well, the grid is a bump map, and the tiles are a texture i made in photoshop (I created the aztec starship texture) and then it's applied using several pverlapping decal, one with a diffuse setting, the other with a specular setting
  9. hmmm, that's something i still haven't been able to do, model characters, very good though, very good
  10. I love Christmas with a passion so if you needs ideas I can scrounge around my brain and find what pops up!
  11. i was thinking of this the other day, this has become somewhat of a tradition for me to watch the progress of this. and you want to go for char animation, perhaps you should go for an 1800s london feel? that's always very christmasy. and with Jim Carrey's Christmas Carol coming out in november, perhaps something of that time period would be appropriate?
  12. So, I haven't done much modeling recently, but I decided to pick it up again, and boy, am I surprised at what I'm making! I've been working on the model for several days now, and will join my not so good looking NCC-1701, but here is a (mostly) chronological look at the NCC-1701-A to date (still not complete, but getting there) And something I'm particularly proud of is my warp nacelles, they were very very tricky as they look simple, but are a little more awkward once you begin building them: And this is where I am at now. The deflector isn't done yet (that's a popular question I've found) and I still have some pieces like the impulse engines left to build, but other then that, it's just detail work, texturing and a little smoothing of places like the shuttlebay
  13. yay more iron mans! looks very shiny, good luck on it!
  14. "but I thought AM was only good for organics" Well poop on you! Looks good, one more piece of evidence AM is good with mechanics
  15. yay! that's terrific! great job! you get better each year!
  16. yay! I am really looking forward to this. i always kind of wanted to make a christmas cartoon, but i just never had the time to do all the work! that's why i always like to see these, i love christmas!
  17. very good, is that the snail from last year that i see on one of the poles?
  18. i think putting it down for a while is a good idea, just remember to pick it back up sometime LOL! anyways, something i thought of while looking at your old image, give it a purpose. the ships all seem like they're headed in random directions for no apparent reason. do it more than just to look good. if the ships have a personality, a consciousness, then your image will improve drastically. perhaps one lead ship, one with a little more emphasis, and then some smaller ships escorting it of different classes perhaps. i don't know, just chucking some ideas out to you
  19. just wait till it's finished! than it'll be something!
  20. it truly is a well done piece of art. the precision and interior details are incredible! the textures are amazing, i feel like i could reach into my monitor and touch it!
  21. i would also have itsy bitsy meteors floating around too
  22. it's from the trailer isn't it. and it looks like you may have even used gabe koerner's enterprise as reference
  23. looks good, but you might want to fix up some of those rendering artifacts
  24. sure thing, take the time you need. and btw, i can do the texturing, i am actually fairly decent at it. you don't need to do it all. yuo've done all that i've asked for, now i think it is time you get me to design something, so that we may fulfil our deal. but really, i can texture it.
