I'm finding that the software adds the file names incorrectly for other extensions besides just "png"s. For "tga" it adds .ic instead of .tga.???
-
I tried rendering again and this time I tried rendering single images. The problem is that when I select a file extension, the software leaves out a letter and makes the render unsavable. For example I tried rendering a "png " file and the file only adds an "ng" after the period in the filename... making the file unsavable and thus the error message. Can anyone duplicate this bug? (see attachment)

Have been playing around with the new 19.5C build and while doing some tests using four different fur materials. this error message popped up; "Missing Image IO Plugin ..." Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! Fur-TESTS.prj FurBEST.mat FurFenwick.mat FurMouseKing.mat Shag.mat

Wow..fantastic answers. I can't wait to study and test this! Thanks!

How would you describe the difference between "Ambiance Global" and "Radiosity"? It seems like there is a bit of overlap in their functioning...
-
neat...thanks!
-
What sort of Ambiance Occlusion are you using in that scene?

Looks cool...!

Thank you for isolating what the problems was! Much appreciated! Tom

Hello Hashers- In the beginning of the sequence the volumetric beam reaches all the way to the ground plane but as the project continues (frames 30-60) the beam breaks up and doesn't reach the ground. Can anyone figure the problem? VolumetricTest.prj

Pixar is laying off 14% of their workforce, animators seem like another career threatened by AI- https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/pixar-animation-lay-off-about-14-workforce-2024-05-21/

It is a depressing thought that AI animation is being chosen over hand crafted animation....

I have been using v19 regularly because V19.5 crashes when I try rendering anything. I believe I sent you the specific files related to the crashing a while back and I think you passed them on to the programmer. I was just checking to see whether any changes had been implemented yet. Thanks!

Is AM V19.5b the most up to date version available? ( I am not referring to any versions still in Beta.)

Rob- Thanks for doing the testing. That is a very informative analysis of how the software emits sprites. Thanks!

Running a test with the Sprites material and the question is, does the patch count effect the "look" of the material emissions? Here is a picture of two meshes (project attached) and the denser mesh seems to have a smoother looking cloud... It would seem that the more patches, the "busier" the picture would be but this is not the case.. Can anyone explain this phenomenon? (BTW- the picture is from 30 rendered.) Those were very interesting cloud transformations! BTW- Here is Clouds.wmv a force blowing some of the sprite clouds away. This approach has possibilities...
-
Yes, that was a cool particle project. I will have to play with the zipped sprite cloud file I just downloaded. Thank you

Very interesting......thank you How big are the sprites in that render? They appear to be rather large and shaded...

Rob had come up with a cool way to make clouds very realistically tumble in the sky the way real clouds do. My question is, is it possible to create an animation whereby realistic looking clouds take the shape of something recognizable (like the profile of an animal.. a horse? ) and then tumble back into a wispy shape.... I myself am unaware how the clouds would be able to take the necessary shape but maybe someone else does? Tom
