  1. Hello Newbies I just finished the Tank tutorial that can be found here http://www.patchwork3d.de/html/deutsch/wha...eating_tank.htm Although I am not new to AM I have much to learn and I feel this tank tutorial covers Some very important features like UV mapping decals.
  2. Benslens?, I dont know what that is.
  3. I will post that info soon check back in a day or two
  4. I will post more info after I start making more progress. For now this is what I get when I fool around with the sweeper plugin after 5minutes of modeling, SSS, and AO. I recommend opening this image in Photoshop and viewing at 100%. There is some fine texture like detail generated by SSS that can only be seen at full res. On a side note I got that 010 error and it took raising the values in SSS to work around it. www.hdjibguy.com
  5. Thanks but I am interested in the physics and the cloth technique. Could you make a quick and dirty video tutorial showing how you created the two different animated hoses?
  6. Could you create a short video tutorial for how you created this?
  7. I think in time you will be a Jedi master at this.
  8. What codec is the video? It comes up black on my end?
  9. i make a small video tutorial remember is an experiment thanks!
  10. Fake Sculpt Patch , is an experimental (Subdivide Patch) is different than another's PATCH 3, 4 , 5 points Patch you can Sculpt it to add details over the Patch with optimus results ( only Subdivide the Patch that you want modific ) Can you create a step by step tutorial?
  11. Caroline Can you put a version # on your Training document. I often wonder if you have made updates.
  12. I simply break up the model and does the modeling of bits and parts in separate windows. When done with a part I just copy it to the main model. Therefore.. almost no modeling is done in the main modeling window. As a funfact: The Bismarck model I made a few years ago consisted of nearly 20 parts which I had to assemble in an action Are there any limitations to that? Do you recommend that workflow?
  13. Notice the change in the nose from one setting to the next. I am going to experiment with groups and SSS. Maybe I can group areas that need slightly shallower sss. Going up or down 10 or 20% on the extinctions from the numbers I have here gives some subtle but acceptable results. I notice that some SSS renders have a green edge to them, these settings helped me to avoid that. MAN_SSS01web.mov
  14. Thanks for the model. Its nice to study good work.
  15. I might donate the model when it is finished, but I have not decided yet Thanks George! No problem
  16. Could I get a copy of that model? I just want to study the modeling techniques. It would be much apreciated.
  17. Shoot me a personal email and I will find a way to get it to you. jason@hdjibguy.com YOUTUBE I wouldnt waste my time. The resolution on Youtube is to low

  19. Try this ftp://jason:jason123@ftp.postgroup.com/TS...2_Tutorials.zip
  20. Thats strange. it works for me on two machines using firefox and win explorer. When using windows explorer drag and drop the file to your desktop but do not double click. In Fire fox right click and save link as to your desktop. If the file name changes just make sure it has the .zip extension when you save it to your desktop.
  21. You get the Program (AM 15) for $50.00 the only catch is its for one year and it only works on one computer which is a pain if you need to render on multiple machines. Alternatively if you purchase the program for $300.00, you get a CD that lasts for ever and you can install it on multiple computers which can speed up render times significantly.
