  1. That looks pretty good Gerald! ...
  2. Oh, by the way Robert, in case you missed my other post in this section ... You can download my JPG and audio files from here: http://www.pencilwedgees.com/BusStop.html ... It's about 32 MB in size Thanks! Bruce
  3. Gene ... If you rendered out the images as TGA instead, remember that you can use Animation Master to convert those images to JPG and then you are back in business. Of course that is if you don't have a separate video editor program. If you don't know the steps to do this then just say so and I will walk ya through it. I just converted 300 some odd TGA image files to JPG as a test and it took about 3 minutes to do it ... no re-rendering required. The only thing I would do is change the default JPG compression from 34% (that was what it was set to in the default project) to maybe something like 50%. The compression artifacts won't be quite as noticable. My JPG image sequence with the two audio files (one for the sound one for the sound effects) only weighed in at about 32 MB. Just let me know .... Bruce
  4. This is what things can look like in the hands of a very talented person. Nice job David!
  5. They are obviously there waiting for the premier of "Bus Stop" ...
  6. Thanks again everybody for the kind words! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with as well. @Walter: No apologies necessary. Trust me when I say that I have been called a lot worse ...
  7. Thanks everybody for the kind words and for taking a look! @Rodney: Although you can turn on collision detection and bounce when using streaks (rain) ... I found it a little easier turning collision off and just creating three emitters ... one from the cloud ... one from the top of the umbrella's surface ... and one at the foot of the character. Then is looks like the rain is bouncing off of the surfaces. @Matt: Sorry I jumped on the umbrella idea first. I hope you can figure something else out or heck, there is nothing wrong with having two umbrella animations. The water on the sidewalk was just a blob set to light gray with transparency and reflections that comes up from below the sidewalk. I then used muscle mode to animate this "blob" to follow where the character moved. Really nothing too technically involved because I ain't that bright in the first place ... hehehe! Again thanks everyone! Bruce
  8. Hello everyone ... Here is my submission to the "Bus Stop" project. You can view it here: http://www.pencilwedgees.com/BusStop.html Please let me know if anyone has any problems viewing it ... Thanks! Robert: Here is a link to the ZIP file that contains all my JPG image sequences as well as a WAV file for both the sound effects and the music. Please feel free not to add the music to the animation if it conflicts with whatever you are doing as a whole with everything. If you could please post a message to here when you have downloaded the ZIP file and that way I will know that you have read this. You can also find the same link to the ZIP file at the link listed above. Thank you Robert and please let me know if you have any problems with anything. http://www.pencilwedgees.com/BruceMonahan_BusStop.zip
  9. Gene ... I'm digging the Grim Reaper ... Not sure how the Audubon Society feels about all the bird carnage but that's their problem. Nice job! Rodney wrote regarding using fart jokes: "Better to understand how the anticipatory build up of the sequence led to an expected outcome but the presentation of a different result caught the audience off guard" .... If that doesn't perfectly describe what a fart is then I don't know what else could ...
  10. Happy Birthday Martin! ... Where ever you are ...
  11. Hey Rodney ... "Haven't heard much about 'Piper Penguin and his Fantastic Flying Machines' either." Piper can be seen on YouTube and other sites online. It was completed about a year ago. I guess it wasn't actually released on DVD like the previous movies. But according to the credits, Satyajit wasn't involved this time. Hope that helps ... Bruce
  12. Nice Robert! You might have rename it "Puff the Magic Rocket".
  13. If you open a new blank model ... Select the "Model1" in the project workspace so that it is highlighted ... Right click -> Plug-ins -> Import -> Object Model (OBJ) ... It should convert the OBJ model to a spline based model. At least it does on version 13 (Although I may have gotten the OBJ importer from somewhere rather then it coming with A:M as standard). The converted version will look like "poo-poo" but it will give you a 3d rotoscope you can then use to base new spline layout on top (you will have to add the splines manually). You might be able to break splines on the actual converted one and redo the continuity layout rather then creating a version from scratch. The only thing to warn you about is if the polys are high in the OBJ model it may take a while for it to import and convert to a spline based. Attached is a zip file of an OBJ model and the spline converted version without any corrections. Just another way to do things ... Bruce OBJ_to_Spline.ZIP contains: - Williams.obj - Williams.mdl OBJ_to_Spline.zip
  14. Robert ... I too missed this thread somehow. Everything looks GREAT! Thanks for showing all the steps long the way.
  15. I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring ... or shall I say my teapot? Pentium 2.4 Windows XP A:M Version 13t (yeah I know I'm old "skool") 1.5 GB Ram Only got 1 core Time: 35:39 ... ouch! Screenshot: Actual image:
  16. Robert ... Man-eating plants, butterflies, and whip cream? ... That sounds like something my strange mind would come up with. Very nice movement with the animation ... Good luck!
  17. Thanks Gene that's very kind of you! Too be honest I still have no idea what I'm doing.
  18. I like it ... hopefully he might also get a body? Bruce
  19. Kat ... I admire that you have kept up this project even though it is a HUGE undertaking to complete. You have progressed nicely and have gotten better with each shot. Bruce
  20. Gerry the storyboards look FANTASTIC! I'm looking forward to seeing this completed ... Best of luck!
