  1. --> QUOTE(Jeff B @ Oct 5 2008, 05:55 AM) 283417[/snapback] Hi all Im Jeff, I live in London UK, Welcome to A:M, Jeff! you can pause those videos, ya know... Another option is to print out pages of the tut you are working on if you don't like screen flipping.
  2. Welcome to A:M! That sounds like a great background. That turned out pretty well! you mean as opposed to facial controls? Probably not. You didn't want to use someone else's lazy-ass smile pose anyway, did you?
  3. no tut but general tips... middle gray is no bump white is protruding, black is recessed, but a white square on a black background will not have much effect. it's the blurry grayscale transition from light to dark that the renderer really pays attention to to create the look. For that reason, sharp geometric shapes and thin lines are things bump maps are least suited to since they have the least room for the gray transition between light and dark.
  4. Walk cycles try to run the length of your chor. When the chor changes length it affects the walk. To stop that use the ease property in the path constraint for the character. Set 0% when you want the walk to start and 100% when you want it to stop.
  5. Like in "Predator"? make a copy of the model that is completely transparent and no color and experiement with small refraction index settings like 1.01
  6. You mean to not render faces that would not be seen anyway? The renderer already figures those out in the "computing Patch visibility" step. or do you mean back-facing patches off like shaded mode can? No.
  7. Dentist drills always remind me of this Don Martin Cartoon http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2008/08/don...essence-of.html
  8. I believe that was an Anzovin product but discontinued now. They have a note on their site to contact sales@anzovin.com if you have questions about their discontinued products so you might try that. You might also try posting specific questions about problems you are having on this forum. A lot of people here may have answers.
  9. there's a tech talk on how to use dynamic constraints http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&am...st&p=256025 Just do one dreadlock first to find the right settings (there's a lot of trial and error to this) then when it looks right do the same thing to the others.
  10. That looks very professional! But you left out the blood-curdling screams of the patient.
  11. when you open up the quicktime player and do Help>About Quicktime Player... what version of quicktime does it show?
  12. I didn't know there was a way to make it NOT include sound. Sor3 shouldn't be a problem. Try MPEg4 just to see
  13. yup
  14. I render movies to Sorenson3 with sound often. something else must be wrong
  15. you can also right-click in the modeling window to do a "save-as"
  16. One tip about the font wizard... when you use it you'll notice different options for how it fills in the face of the letters. One option may leave a crease on some letters and another will do it to other letters. Do a run with each option and use the best looking letters from each.
  17. You'll want to find that CD. They'll replace a broken current CD if you send it to them. But a lost one.. I don't think so.
  18. i guess Leopard didn't come out until the end of 2007 and the last version of V13 was from June 2007 so you may be right that your OS is the issue. 13t was the last update get v13t you can get a 1 year subscription to V15 for $50
  19. Welcome to A:M! Definitely do all the tuts in "The Art of A:M". That will answer many questions you will have. And then if your stuck, ask here.
  20. The confessional is a clever premise! When you render that find a way to make the middle wall more obvious, I didn't catch it until the 3rd view. the drink inthe middle is a fun bit, but it's happening awfully fast. Since they can't see each other, what good does the hand gesturing do them? Too many straight up poses still, I think. What if that priest were leaning his chair back against that middle wall like he was being real lazy at the start, not expecting anyting surprising.
  21. another that may cover similar ground: http://www.hash.com/two/RCHolmen/keyframingbasicsMP4.mov
  22. streaks are my favorite. you can make rain, sprays, snow, sparks, confetti...
  23. What's the picture on the CD you are running v13 with?
  24. That rig won't switch in midstream like the Squetch rig does. CHoose IK or FK at the beginning of the shot and stick with it.
  25. It looks like the knee controllers or the constraints to the knee controllers are switched. It looks like that. It might be something else.
