I did a quick test animation for a car ride. Its just one keyframe at frame 100 and the wheelrotateexpression on. Somehow the ride of the car is all jerky. What may possibly cause this? I have 5% motionblurr and tried 12 ,30 even 60 frame Quicktimesetting, no difference. Where have I to look. Codec is Animation, but its the same, when I render out png frames.... BannerCapCarB.mov

Here`s the project with everything embedded... WalltestN.prj

>Can you show a real life example of what you want it to look like? I'm not sure yet what you are going for. trough the hole. Maybe it already does, though? I cant really tell from what I see. I would expect the wall more like in the first picture without volumetric and lensflare though. I rendered two pictures with darkness set to 100. No big difference, is it?

somehow offtopic, but aren`t the arms of the mother slightly too long? Very good so far, some additional hip side to side movement will add a lot...
-
No help on this topic anybody? Maybe I should post this in the lightningsection again?

Hi Jimd, Thanks a lot for your tut. When further investigating, I found its the setting of the lightbulb to volumetric and lensflare that makes the wall loose its opacity. The first pic is a bulb with default seting, the second with volumetric and the third with lensflare. Any workaround for that wall regaining its opacity with these settings?

Hi Jimd, Thanks for your answer, but I fear, I don`t quite understand you... What do you mean by: adjust to wall (do not pass the light threw the wall only the beam) How exactly do I make the wall not penetrateable for the light? In my model I made do wall pieces each normal pointing to the outsidedirection. But that alone doesn`t seem to work???
-
Hi folks, I am trying to make a light shine out of a window in a wall. I made a test with two wallsides each normals sticking outwards and was expecting that the light couldn`t pass through, but it does. Here is my test so far. What am I doing possibly wrong here? Thanks for your help. Testwall.mdl Walltest.cho

Yes it works... I was somehow irritated, because I expected an "edit" option to pop up with right mouseclick, which doesn`t with "Description"," Notes" and "Last Modified By", but when you click into the area again an enterfield pops up. So, yes it works, when you find it....

So, you are still using AM? Maybe we will hear more from you again with 16 coming up, would be great.

Thank you Yves for your info! Don`t you have a website anymore? What became of your lovely meshlady? ;>) Jake

How about using the farmerstractor , that I posted in the wip section and let everybody do something with it?(with enter and exit points)

>I didn't even know there were notes! i tried it and was able to save and reload a model with notes (v16), although I don't know what you would do if you had more than one line to enter. Maybe this was never noticed, because nobody ever used this feature.... but not even the TWO, SO guys?

Hi guys, I donate this vehicle to this great comunity here for free use. I created many poses for every handling possible. Special thanks to David and Carlos for the Expression Wheel Rotate Tutorial. Please testdrive and examine this baby as hard as you can. Comments welcome. Maybe we could make a new comunity short animation project with it? Just an idea. By the way, I tried to write some notes and description in the fileinfo, no succsess. Is there some special trick to do so? Hi Bubba, I think this looks wrong. You need the shudders for each footstep to underline the weight of the mecha and some kind of recouchet for the gunshots, that will go to the back but not to the ground.
-
>Here's a traditional dome with a very small hole. For almost any purpose it's invisible and it's easier to make than with no hole. (As because the lightbeams can go inside the model) Also when you "overscale" that last ring, that it covers the hole, can that cause any renderingproblems?
-
>I think we found a nice compromise
-
>Ooh well sounds great! I guess i really have to look into v16 then! Too bad that none of this is visible on the hash frontpage... I really think a product page with all the new goodies listed would be helpful and attracting new or returning users like me! Think about it, Hash please give it a less amateurish and more clean professional look like Modo or C4D for instance. (I Know, AM is not meant mainly for pros, but why not invite some also, to give it a try.)
-
Have you checked for internal patches? Often theycan cause rendering-artifacts and if you use models, other people made, they could easily have creeped in, especially if the models were very complex.
-
Hi Bubba, Great work so far, I like it a lot! But... I think your mecha is lacking weight... maybe one way to achieve this , make him move way slower or let the ground plaine shudder beneath his steps somehow. Maybe an expression could do that or some animated displacement maps? Can we see a textured version already?

>Last week, I had an interview with a small ad agency and they seemed to love my stuff and were brainstorming all of these projects that I could work for them on ...and then dead silence. These agency people live in there daily stress routine focussing just on the job they are at right now. But nevertheless, that`s the way to go. Show every ad agency in your area, what you can do. One day someone will need something in this direction and they might remember you and call you up, could be even in a year or later. I am quite optimistic, that because of the i-pad and internet the need for animated content that`s not too expensive will grow. In the meantime, why don`t you try to offer the agencies at the same time your talent as a storyboard and layout-artist? Maybe you could make a living from that, till your pirates succseed.

I was just stumbeling about the GE and Tonner that sounded german to me...

Great work! Is this a german Diesellok?

that`s very sad to hear about the syndication. I guess the old established stuff like peanuts, Hägar etc. may block space for new content also on top of that. But if syndication means to sell your ownership it`s no way to go anyhow. But considering to work in black and white drawn style (or even just flatcolored, that could be done with Mangastudio within a blink of an eye ) for a certain time will offer some advantages nevertheless: - you will save a lot of time for 3-D animation work... - you wonnt have to stop your strips totally... - you will see, if your fans react to this somehow, meaning dialogue and maybe new ideas... - you always can rework your artwork in 3-D lateron, if need be. and you still have all your color work up-to-now, which you can show. As for the animation quality I would say, if you reach the standard of your christmas animation, it would be more than enough.
-
Hi Mark, You are surly not waiting for some wise guys opinions, that doesn`t even know to help himself in this respect, but nevertheless: I would continue the strip in drawn black and white version for the time being and try to syndicate it for newspapers "Peanuts"-style. The saved time I would put into an animated Trailer-clip to promote your project on "You tube" Maybe try something that has the potential to go "viral". The future for your fantastic 3D-color stuff I see in animation.
