Fantastic, just fantastic! Is that HDRI lighting or global color or what?! Could you tell us how the lighting and rendering was done? PLEEAAASSEEE!!!!!!! Greetings, Elm.

Hi! This city was done with displacement at the end of 2004. In fact, it's based on a satellite image of baghdad.
-
No, we still use our old method. But in this case, there weren't that many passes to render.
-
Hi! Thanks again! The background is simply a photograph of the skyline of Bremen, our home base.
-
all very very very cool stuff. thanks for sharing this.

Yes, that's right, we're working on the english part of our hp.... Anyway it's the one featuring 'Sissi' and 'Franzl', the famous austrian royal couple of the beginning of the 20th (?) century. Thanks for your comments!

Hi Just finished a new little commercial. Find it in the extended work section on our hp. ("Our Work" --> then "more" - first one on the left - "Saturn Sissi") http://www.soulcage-department.de

Don't really know, but i think so.

The lighter edges in the ambience pass is achieved by applying a gradient material to the models, similar to the plush darktree material.

We don't render out any pass with motion blur. For at least two reasons: 1. The only acceptable moblur result in A:M can be achieved with multipass adjustments ( minimum 16 passes ). This would take too long, considering the many passes we render out. 2. We like to have control of the moblur amount during post production. There's lots of tweaking needed to get the right results. That's why we use Reelsmart motionblur in After Effects during Composing. Thanks, Elm.

This IS insane!

Yes - that's how we do it. Of course we use the alpha channel. The layer modes during composing always vary, so it's kind of experimenting and exploring each time. greetings, Elm.

Hi! Here's a picture of my visit at Hash Inc. It was a fantastic day, just like my whole west coast journey. Thanks again for showing us around, for the icecream, the beers we had, the tee shirts, the tattoos, .. . everything! See ya! Elm.

Hi Guys - O.K., maybe I should explain the ad a bit... The guy on the balcony isn't a German, he's Austrian, a Guy called Leopold Figl. This guy was the minister of foreign affairs in Austrias 50's. The ad is a caricature of the famous historical event, when Austria got back it's autonomy after WW2. Back in the days, the original Leopold showed the "State Contract" to the cheering masses, in our ad, as you can see, it's a brochure of 'Saturn'. The other guys on the balcony are the ministers of the allied countries involved in the Contract: Great Britain, The US, France, Russia. SO, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY NAZI SHIT, IT IS A CARICATURE OF THE HAPPIEST AND MOST PEACEFUL DAY IN AUSTRIAS HISTORY. Hope to have set things straight. Greetings, Elm.

No No No Mr. Meyer, You misunderstood me. I use "hate" in place of "admire", "like", "love". I said I hate Victor because in actuallity I appreciate his work very much. Now, that said........I REALLY HATE YOU GUYS AT SOULCAGE! You're fan and loyal supporter, Dimos P.S. The statements made above are not intended to insult or hurt but to support and nurture the intended individuals. ahh!

Hi! As you can possibly see, the audience consists of only two characters - a male and a female. These two characters have poses with different face shapes, suit colours as well as different accessoires like glasses an stuff. by turning in these different poses, the variety within the audience comes into existence. The closeup audience (Bank director, his wife and "the General") are reused models from older clips of ours. maybe you guess from which ones? Thanks for commenting on this one, love and greetings from all of us!

Hi Folks. Feel free to ckek our first commercial in 2005. As always under "Our work" at soulcage-department.de. Greetings, the Soulcagers.
-
Thanks! No - these two freaks (William J. Petterssen and Prof. Dr. Klob) have already starred in one of our commercials (in fact i guess it was our first ever.. ), called "Forschung Aktuell", that's "Science Today" in English. You can check out that one on our Homepage, too. You find it under "Our Work". Greetings, Elm.
