  1. Uh. ----------------------------- It just timed out on me before completing the download. I hope we haven't depleted your traffic allowance! The still looks cool though. ------------------------ Got it! It came in the second time at about 256 Kb/s
  2. John, Rodney and Robert, thank you! Well, I wouldn't call them wonderful models but they are gradually getting closer to being useable. Ha, ha! I'm sorry to disappoint you, Robert, but ... we've got reindeer too: [attachmentid=22850] However these reindeer have been fitted with Santa's secret methane converters, which magically turn methane into helium. How else could a reindeer fly. These guys are going for a shave and an antler remodelling before Christmas eve.
  3. Good question. Sorry, I'm not being very helpful, am I? Hopefully Rodney will have some idea of where there is a list of features. He's very good at directing traffic, keeping the place clean, tending to cuts and bruises and a whole host of other forum related activities. I'm sure he will come along before too long. In the meantime, have you tried using the search button, (top right)? It's a long shot and requires a bit of patience but you just might find something. If I find anything I will post a lnk here for you. Good luck.
  4. A:M14 is still only an Alpha release, meaning that it will probably go through several months of revisions before it gets a full release. However the 2007 CD is now available which gives you access to both A:M13, (including any remaining updates), and all A:M14 versions which will be updated throughout 2007.
  5. Wonderful robot! However, these bipeds have a centre of gravity problem. For that walk cycle to work it would need some sort of hover jet in the centre of the body to keep it balanced and prevent it falling over. I suppose if they moved at the speed of lightning they might be capable moving a leg forward without falling but they would still rock from side to side as they walked. Hmmm. Must be some top-secret electro-magnetic foot locking mechanism and weight distribution gizmo. Beautiful models ... Strange physics.
  6. Thanks, Dhar. I'm really not bothered about missing the contest deadline though. I enjoy the challenge of trying to come up with an interesting concept and making it happen in time for the voting but If it's late it's late. It's all good practice.
  7. This is not the contest thread but don't miss it. Go over to The Contest Thread and Vote! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is just my almost ran image thread. Well, the pressure is off. I missed the deadline for the contest but as I had a couple of festive images on the boil I am going to post them here anyway. This image was a mock up of what I was going for with my first image. It is all A:M, (11.1 and 12), but is a composite on three layers. When I finish working on the second image I will get back to this one, finishing the sleigh, better poses for the figures, get the hair flowing and add a proper snow storm with some moody lighting... I hope. [attachmentid=22802] Here is another composite. Just testing: [attachmentid=22803] The second image,( not shown yet), is my prefered concept and I will attempt to finish it. In the meantime this is the main character from the image, who is being textured at the moment. I haven't rigged him yet either. [attachmentid=22804] More later...
  8. I think you will have to ask someone at Hash Inc about that: steve@hash.com or martin@hash.com
  9. Congratulations, Rich and John!!! The website looks great and the models are outstanding! It is indeed heartwarming to see another professional looking production coming from Animation:Master artists. I wish you guys big success with Dark Skull Productions.
  10. Hmmm. Sounds like a job for...Rodney! Yeah. Sorry, Goodguy. Hopefully someone who actually knows the answer will chime in soon.
  11. Well, not quite every folder. I found Knight HERE so with a little more looking around you might find Wabbit. I hope that is the right version for A:M12.
  12. I'm not sure but you might find them on the Hash ftp site, (link from the main Hash website). Most recent models will not open in A:M(1999) though as the format changed with A:M13(2006). Are you running A:M from a dongle then?
  13. Your A:M CD comes with a library of models, choeographies, actions, etc. It is in the Data folder.
  14. Well, you never get that close to a billboard but you can be standing right next to the graphic at a trade show. We used 150dpi occasionally but as most of our clients were publishers of glossy magazines, computer games or high tech companies a pixelated graphic wouldn't do their image any favours.
  15. Cool! 30 dpi? I guess you can get away with it on a billboard. I used to print out artwork this size at 300 dpi from a large format HP Design Jet for exhibition work. Overkill, I guess, but the clients demanded it. I think you probably hold the record for the largest A:M image.
  16. Or... Set up your choreography with your logo and a shadow casting light. Turn your ground plane ON. Expand the ground plane's Options in the Project Work Space, expand the 'Receive Shadows' option and set 'Shadow Only' to ON. Render your image to TGA with the Alpha buffer ON in your 'Render to File Setting'. This will give you a render of just your shadow. It will most likely look like a matt black image because it is comprised of just your shadow on a transparent, (alpha channel), background until you composite it over your coloured background image in Photoshop. Tweak to your heart's content in PS.
  17. So, what ever happened to this project? Head in books, Peter? It would be nice to see you finish this epic journey.
  18. That should have a good 'crumple' factor!
  19. Awesome as ever, Stian! One thing that caught my eye though is the lack of a wheel well on the rear wheels. At the moment you can see straight through to the inside of the back bumper/fender. I don't know this car though so maybe that is the way they're made. Maybe that is not a required detail for David's accident reconstructions. Maybe its just the angle of the shot. Maybe its just me...
  20. You need to learn rigging. That is the short answer. Doing the tutorials in the Art of Animation:Master is a good place to start. The simplest solution for you is to create a skeleton that has foot controls near the top of the hierarchy and have the calves constrained to aim at and translate to them. The legs would be kinematic chains. That should be enough to get you started but I recommend that you do the tutorials first and take a closer look at the constraints and hierarchy in any rigs that you have from the CD .
  21. At last I get to see and hear this! Dhar, you done good, man!!! You an' that cooool dude, Shaggy, done played with my emotions. Very good choice of music, for starters, and you concieved and realised a beautiful portrayal of the story. Big applause from me. You and Shaggy should be up for an Oscar! (No, not the trophy... one of those taxis that ferry you around in Oz. Sorry. More bad puns.) Excellent work, Dhar! I look forward to your next one. Oh, big applause for Louis too!
  22. All the best, Keith! See you back here when you're feeling up to it.
