Rodders Now I have a moment I'll give you the update I have been working on my third Bella Bear story and hopefully this one should get finished over Christmas. I sent my previous two stories of to a literary agency to see if there was any potential to have them made into children's books. Ironically, they basically said that I should try to use them to get a job as an animator So knickers to turning them into books and indeed doing the changes they said to make them more appropriate for children's book - I will now start animating! I am not gonna even attempt to animate one, let alone three of the stories, I will just choose a section of one and animate that. I will probably need some help so I will be asking in the new year In anticipation of this I am getting a new fastish machine (PC unfortunately) which will help me in my quest. Oh, and I might start actually producing some passable animation

Well, it's not strickly an igloo... that's just a working term I have for it cos it looked like an igloo. That on the right is a tree trunk - its grows right through the middle of the igloo. I think I will rename it to Bear Lodge -much better title and do an external render so you can see her home in full glory. Oh we are having a dig at me today aren't we... well she would have looked an effeminate boy if indeed she was a boy Rodney Thanks for the comments. I will indeed give you an update on my plans for Bella Bear hopefully this week, at the moment I am having three Christmas Parties to attend and having to work the weekend. Hopefully I will update you here before Christmas - I would love to tell you all what's been going on

'HIS? HIS?' HER!!! Mind you your not the only one that thought this I must admit she does look a little bit androgenous, others have made the same comments. I have been meaning to add some eyelashes which I think would do the trick. I agree with you about the furniture moulded to the shape of the walls it would give it a very unique feel. I might adjust the dresser to mould in with the walls. I agree, I think he means characters... Thanks for all the comments gang - much appreciated

Steve Who are the 'correctors'? Is it a US program? Obviously I have never heard of them… Glad you thought it looked cosy, it's meant to be

O.K. Just to get a little feedback perhaps, I am now working on the inside of BB's igloo home so I thought I'd show off a quick render. It obviously needs more work but it will start the ball rolling…

Oh, I've gone all silly now. It's nice to know someone out there like me work apart from me - thanks for your comments guys, more is on the way As for the mouth on the tree, I am saving that bit until last, I am working on the kite at the moment. See yas later!

The textures might look OK but I diddn't notice BB up in the air Anyway, here's another little update, almost finished this scene except for facial poses for the Chuckaboro Tree (that's gonna be fun). I am off to put BB in here Igloo and put some nice furniture in it now

I am quite pleased with this, although I should have done the leaves using the new hair feature (I don't know how to use it yet and it takes so long to render) - they are not bad! Anyway here is the update:

Got fed up wiv cakes so I moved onto an earlier scene in the Bella Bear saga that I started in April this year. Just added a bit more scenery and I'll be adding more manjana…

Wot? First when I watched Vern's flicks I couldn't quite make them out - but I wanted to. Then when I read the threads I got even more confused until I re-read them now I think it has sunk in I still need to read Yves tut on alpha channels to get my head completely around this pre-multiplied concept. Anyway, now Mr thicky has worked it out I take a bow and thank Vern, Yves and all the others for showing me the light, or should I say alpha, or is that premultipled alpha...

Hiya Mike, sorry I took so long replying I am have been upto my eyeballs with things other than Hashing Anyway, in answer to your question at the moment everything is all in one choreography. Funnily enough I was pontificating this before I posted it - should I have one set for the outside and one set for the inside. The only thind is if I have an inside set I better make sure the windows show what is outside The outside still has some trees to go in and the lilypads need texturing, along with a nice sky and a textured kite moored upto the cakeshop. I might add a few other bits and bobs as I think of them. As for the inside, I am in the process of putting gas lamps in (one is already there but untextured), lighting, perhaps some shelves with plates on cakes on the cake counter, a hat for Minkey and some more tables and chairs. I hope to do all of this at the weekend cos I go a few days off I am looking forward to having this set done and I will post it as soon as it is done. Thanks everyone for all your comments.

Phil That's a nice looking bird you go there m8. The only thing (I am not a harrier expert) is that it only has two exhaust nozzles... I thought the Harrier had four? One minor point, when looking at it from the side view it looks a little stubby. Is it meant to be quite that short?

OK chaps and chapesses, here is a quickie glimpse from inside Bella Bear & Hannah Bannah's infamous favourite eating haunt, with a guest appearance from the chap that runs the gaff - Minkey Needs lotsa work but I couldn't resist posting it to see what anyone thought of it. All comments and suggestions throughly welcome

Well, Paul you are the quite one aren't you. Sitting there through the BAM meeting not saying much and then you come up with POW! This interesting peice - like it. It obviously needs work, getting the balance right and those 'orrid creases in the hands (use porcelain material), but if you work at it I think you will have a very nice peice of animation

That's just what I was gonna ask! Well how did you do it? It's a nice model. I always find AM great for organic modeling but not so good for mechanical fings... (my inability).

Wow! Nice stuff Dale - do you wanna help me build the inside of Witchy Pegs house by any chance? I think that Zaryin is right and it needs to be a little colder perhaps by eing blued up. It looks a little too cosy at the moment. As for spider webs I had some success by making them outta splines and then rendering them as lines. They don't look too good close up but in the distance they are OK. Here is one I did earlier, I think it needs a materials applied to it:

nerrazzi Great scene, great lighting, great modeling. … the one thing that bothers me about this scene though is it doesn't look like its REALLY underwater. I don't know what it is, it looks like it could be a night time scene from a sci-fi movie as well as underwater one. I think it need some dirt in the water, only a tiny amount. Perhaps even the faintest of bubbles coming of the sub. Perhaps some depth of field or hint of underwater scenery in the background. Just sumink to make it look like it is really underwater. I should know I have been there a few times Hope that helps

Thanx hypnomike, you certainly will be seeing a lot more coming out from me and I will be doing some animation - gotta stop getting side-tracked
