  1. David, We are going to have to be a bit more specific than that to keep the file sizes low. I agree we need to do this but the future is heading the opposite direction. Animation doesn't make this any easier. Just to get the discussion going... The largest file that can be uploaded into a post is 1MB. How painful would visiting a WIP with a page full of 1MB images in each post be? That is the worse case for that scenario and I doubt it would be worth a visit from low bandwidth users. Images linked from outside the forum add to the problem. There is (practically speaking) no limit to the size of images that can be linked into a post. Solutions This is what we need to discuss. It would be nice to cover all aspects of the problem and we can keep it handy for reference. Image size isn't just a consideration for those with low bandwidth. In animation file size (and compression) is an important consideration for all. Next?
  2. hehe Good try Gale. Gonna draw around midnight *MY* time. oh... and #1851 is now eligible. Hope it leads to more than just another big 'fish story' for him!
  3. Sorry no kids under... how old did you say your were again Zack? #405 is in. Hope you win.
  4. Thanks Alonso, Not everyone is all that ecstatic that I post alot. I appreciate everyones patience for putting up with me. You should see my posts that DON'T make it into the forum. As far as contests go... you are in with hours to spare, Mr. Spider. #420 even!
  5. Don't tell anyone I said this... but... if you give me $200 I'll make sure you get an upgrade. Shhhhh.....................
  6. well... the number you mention is forum based.... technically you don't have to own A:M to be in the forum I guess... but I don't see why people would hang out if they didn't own or plan to own. The number looks good on you regardless. Concerning your version, if you bought in December (and got the Sorcerez CD) you already own v12 but are just waiting until it comes out. Maybe Hash Inc is running out of CDs already!!!
  7. Phil.... entering in with the big #36! Wow! ...and Paul (#4032) continuing the list of TAOA:M alumni throwing their hat into the ring. Good to see you again!
  8. #s 1812 and 2468 didn't win (yet!) but they are in the runnin'! Thanks for participating guys.
  9. The dreaded "me too" post but have to say that looks nice. Good enough to eat.... errr..... Nice Bug!
  10. That was pretty good. Bravo! I could see that one on TV for sure. I highly recommend adding a bit to it (i.e. fill the animation out with him pulling up... pulling up... and then success) and make it a little longer. If then rendered in a little higher quality... you are A:M Films bound my friend!
  11. According to my records #3129 was added long ago. You are in TC!
  12. Pete, I haven't the slightest idea... I don't think there are any current plans for republication. Perhaps you can ask the author.
  13. Down to the wire #3368. You are in. ...a little more than 24 hours to go folks.
  14. MyAM, Don't fret... you've got a great resource there. I don't know the sales figures... I'm sure Will Sutton does. I do know he hit 250 or so pretty soon after offering it for sale. That was something like six months ago. Considering the active A:M user base here in the forum I'd say that's pretty good. From the conversations I've had with Will, I know putting the book together was a labor of love for him. He really wanted to provide the community with the information they needed in a format easy to carry around. I think he accomplished that. Concerning the online Tech Ref... that is nice too. I use both the online and paperback Tech Refs. Mostly the online when online... and the book when offline. Makes sense no? Will also added some things you won't find in the online version. My only critique of the book is something Will is well aware of... the index could be easier to navigate. That doesn't detract from it's usefulness that much. A refined index would make it a treasure. As far as assisting with a WIP... it can... but mostly for troubleshooting. It isn't set up as a step-by-step or tutorial type book. It is as the title suggests: a technical reference. My 2 cents. As far as the link to the online Help/Tech Ref check here: Online Reference
  15. Hey... that's looking pretty good. The only thing I can think to really suggest is to play with the lighting to get the absolute best image possible.
  16. You are in Raymond! #s 5087, 2497, 4692 and 4657 are confirmed.

    Kapsules

What he said! *Sorry... this is a 'me too' post... but we DO need more Kapsules!
  19. Please follow this link to the New Users Forum:Logan's post in the TAOA:M area Join in and critique, comment and encourage. A special invite goes out to those that are apt to teach. You are most welcome. Thanks!
  20. You'll have to post them again unless we can convince someone (with full admin power) to move them over. I'm powerless outside of the New Users Forum. We'll link to your first post so people can continue to comment and critique. All are welcome to join in whether completing the exercises or not! It's always more fun with more people joining in. Rodney
  21. Hee hee! Looks like you got that one going on. (minor glitch at the beginning of the first one but looking good) I don't suppose you'd care to move your exercises over to the TAOA:M discussion? You'd be able to join others working on the tutorials too. You might even inspire someone. Here's a link if you're interested: The Art of Animation:Master - Exercise Area
  22. Gerry, Glad to see you are working on your characters. This bodes well for the bugbots. I'm really looking forward to seeing them in action.
  23. If you do plan to meet I definitely want to know when! That would give me dual excuses to meet you guys and visit the family too. In other words... If the timing is right, I'll try to be there. Rodney
  24. Eggprops is back!??! This is great news!
